Gelded following 2023 campaign and has improved to win 3 of his 4 starts for new yard this season, completing the hat-trick in good style over C&D (good to soft) last month. Up 8 lb for that but he's clearly at the top of his game and commands considerable respect.

Enjoyed a good spell last summer, during which he won handicaps at Kempton and Sandown, and was placed on several occasions off higher marks than this. However, he failed to shine in Bahrain during the winter and efforts since returning to these shores have also been some way short of his best.

Dual winner for Aidan O'Brien earlier in his career (including in Group 3 company) and produced best effort to date for this yard when going close in 1¾m Sandown handicap last month. Failed to back that up at Salisbury next time, though, and couldn't be sure that this drop in trip is what he wants.

Successful twice in 2023 and looked better than ever back from a 5-month break when striking over C&D (good to firm) 24 days ago. 4 lb rise manageable but a new personal-best will be nonetheless needed if she's to follow up in this stronger race.

Made a winning reappearance over C&D in April and largely creditable efforts in defeat since, not least when chasing home a William Haggas-trained hot-pot at Haydock (10.2f, good to firm) recently. Place possibilities off the same mark here.

Irish import who made it 3 wins from 8 starts for present yard when narrowly prevailing at Newbury (1¼m, good to soft) last time. However, he will need to pull out more in order to deliver again now that his new 8 lb higher mark has kicked in.

Lightly-raced 3-y-o who did the job well accounting for 6 rivals from the front in a C&D handicap last month. Lost little caste in defeat when finding one too strong at Sandown next time, form which was boosted when the third won well at Newmarket on Saturday, and he remains open to improvement.

Made the frame all 4 starts last year, getting off the mark at Brighton in October. Beaten favourite both starts switched to handicaps this year, latterly third of 11 upped to 11.5f at Yarmouth, but with just half-a-dozen runs under her belt she's hardly exposed.

Off the mark in a Chelmsford maiden in February and while he initially failed to build on that switched to handicaps, his near miss at Epsom (1¼m, good to firm) a fortnight ago represented a step forward. Wouldn't be without each-way hope if able to build on that.

Resurgent when completing a hat-trick (all over this trip on various ground-types) in May/June. Shaped as if still in good form when third in a 5-runner affair at Pontefract last time but others make more appeal from a win point of view here.

Resumed winning ways over a mile at Pontefract in July and has found just one too good on each of his 2 subsequent starts, latterly in an amateur riders' handicap at Carlisle (9f, good to soft) where he conceded first run. Big player.

Forecasts

God Of Fire (9/4), Due To Henry (9/2), Warren Hill (11/2), Zayina (6/1), First Officer (9/1), Giselles Defence (11/1), Jewel Maker (18/1), Ribal (22/1), Aikhal (25/1), Graignes (25/1), Life On The Rocks (28/1)

18:00 Windsor - 15 August 2024 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

This competitive handicap can go the way of JEWEL MAKER, who arguably should've won at Carlisle recently and moving back up to 1¼m looks a good move. Due To Henry has fewer miles on the clock than any of these rivals and he is feared most on the back of a solid effort in defeat at Sandown. That said, God of Fire is on the crest of a wave at present and should make another bold bid despite climbing the weights, while First Officer makes some each-way appeal.
