GREEN ICON failed to justify favouritism on debut in a 6f Nottingham maiden but he nevertheless shaped with considerable promise, leaving the impression that he would be all the better for the experience, and benefit from the step up to this trip. The Showcasing colt is an appealing alternative to probable market leader Metro Dubai, who found just one too good on his introduction prior to finishing mid-field at Royal Ascot. Newcomers City Captain and Elmast are both fairly appealing on paper.
