17/2
Dual hurdles winner. Good second in a 3m Hexham handicap chase on his return from a long absence in April but little impact on both starts since (over hurdles on latest). Percentage call is to look elsewhere.

Tricky customer but finally off the mark in 7-runner handicap hurdle at Fontwell (25.8f, good) under this pilot last month. However, he further underlined why he's not one to place much faith in when pulled up at Huntingdon (25f, good) 19 days later and now a first-time tongue tie is applied.

Winless since landing a brace of handicaps in autumn 2021 and merely underlined inconsistency when pulled up last 3 outings. Mark in freefall but needs to show so much more (has just the one completion for his current yard).

Runner-up on completed start in points and returned to form from out of the blue in first-time blinkers when runner-up at this C&D (good to soft) last month, despite making late mistakes. Nudged up 2 lb and rates a player if arriving in the same mood.

Dual winner for Donald McCain was beaten a long way after an 11-month break when tenth of 14 in handicap hurdle at Aintree (20f, good to soft, 11/1) 6 weeks ago. Entitled to be sharper now but hard to have confidence on the back of that effort.

Runner-up sole start in Irish points and matched the best of his novice form when fourth of 10 on handicap debut at Taunton (23.9f, good to soft) back in December. Has since left Thomas Gallagher (£21,000) and ought to make a bigger impact this season. Cheekpieces on.

Remains a maiden after 22 NH runs but back on track when fourth of 17 in handicap at Punchestown (19.4f, good) just under 3 weeks ago. First-time tongue tie applied but others clearly more appealing from a win perspective.

Scored at Stratford last summer for Gary Hanmer. Stepped forward from her debut for this yard when a creditable third of 8 in handicap hurdle at Kelso (25.8f, soft) 33 days ago and holds sound place claims again.

Gained reward for several good efforts in defeat when landing Southwell handicap hurdle (3m) last autumn. Lost his way over the winter but took a step back in the right direction when fifth of 11 at Perth (23.9f, good to firm) 19 days ago. Will need to jump/settle better if he's to build on it.

Surpassed pick of her Irish form when making second start for this yard a winning one over C&D last summer. Now 2 lb below that winning mark following a string of subsequent no-shows so she clearly needs to bounce back in a major way.

Placed several times over fences last year and ran respectably after 6 months off when seventh of 12 in handicap hurdle at Ffos Las (23.9f, good) last month. Entitled to sharpen up for that outing, so not without each-way hope.

Poor form, including in handicaps this spring. 1 lb out of the weights so first-time cheekpieces will need to spark major improvement.

Out of sorts for some time now and showed no more enthusiasm back on the Flat at Bath (17.1f, good) recently. Easily opposed from 5 lb out of the handicap.

Forecasts

Grass's Jet (5/2), Home Sweet Highway (3/1), Dynamite Kentucky (17/2), Mac's Xpress (9/1), Haveyougotmymoney (10/1), If I Say (12/1), The Bold Thady (14/1), Camilla's Choice (16/1), Bright Sunbird (16/1), Johns Dream (20/1), Nora The Xplorer (33/1), Time To Tinker (40/1), Robeam (40/1)

21:00 Bangor-on-Dee - 28 June 2024 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Plenty of these arrive out of form so a chance is taken on stable-switcher GRASS'S JET, who matched the best of his novice form when fourth on handicap debut at Taunton in December and looks capable of better again for his new yard this season. Home Street Highway bounced back to form when runner-up here last month, and he may have to settle for silver again, with Bright Sunbird and If I Say another couple fancied to go well.
