Steele Tango gelding. Showed ability when fourth of 6 in novice event at Newcastle (1m) in March, staying on final 1f. Longer trip should suit here and he may do better but handicaps likely to be more his bag.

Dark Angel gelding who showed plenty of ability when second of 14 in a Lingfield bumper (2m) on sole start for T. J. Kent in November, collared dying strides. Should have a future in this sphere on that evidence.

Kingman filly. Half-sister to 1½m winner French Polish and smart 1m-1¼m winner Mohaafeth. Dam won both her starts at 1¼m/10.4f winner (likely to have stayed 1½m). Wears hood and interesting where she figures in the market on debut.

250,000 gns yearling, Lope De Vega colt. Well backed, made the perfect start when landing 11-runner Newcastle novice (1m) in February, coming from further back to run down one boasting experience. In excellent hands and sure to be suited by this step up to 1¼m. Player.

85,000 gns yearling, Showcasing colt. Overcame inexperience to make a winning debut in 8-runner Chelmsford novice (10f) 3 weeks ago. Good chance he will have derived plenty from that effort and claims with progress anticipated.

160,000 gns yearling, Masar gelding. Closely related to 11f winner Shazia and half-brother to several winners, including 9.5f/1¼m winner Shalamba and 11f-15f winner Shalakar, both useful. Dam French 1¼m/10.5f winner, won Prix de l'Opera. Interesting newcomer.

€270,000 yearling, Night of Thunder colt. 7/2, looked green and unable to get competitive when fifth of 9 in maiden at Windsor (10f, good to soft) on debut 22 days ago. In excellent hands though, so highly surprising were he not capable of better.

Invincible Spirit colt who was easy to back and looked badly in need of the experience when last of 11 in maiden at Kempton (1m) on debut 48 days ago. This should reveal more now stamina is tested further.

Forecasts

Niigata (15/8), Las Ramblas (3/1), More Thunder (9/2), Leicester Square (7/1), Saji (16/1), Anglepoise (18/1), The Glen Rovers (22/1), French Mistress (28/1), Implacable (33/1), Nogradi (33/1), Sydney Seabreeze (50/1), Lesrico (200/1)

17:10 Nottingham - 21 May 2024 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

LAS RAMBLAS makes loads of appeal on paper and justified good support to make a winning debut at Newcastle in February, coming from further back to run down one boasting previous experience. Very much the type to improve, including now tackling this longer trip, he earns the vote on turf debut. Fellow debut winner Niigata for the Crisford yard is another to consider. Newcomer Leicester Square is worth keeping an eye on, with Anglepoise also expected to do better again.
