Smart handicap chaser at best but long time since he got his head in front and failed to complete on his first 5 starts for Alan Jones. Third at Fakenham when last seen 8 months ago showed some ability does remain however, but likely best watched back over fences for a new yard.

Dual chase winner (at around 2m) early in 2022 but having been more miss than hit since then, cashed in on a much-reduced mark to score at Bangor (20.3f) in May. Very disappointing in his follow-up bid there 3 weeks later and has had a wind op ahead of this reappearance.

Showed he can still be competitive back hurdling when 7 lengths fourth of 10 on his reappearance here last month and took another step back in the right direction when third at Carlisle (20f, soft) 11 days ago. Back over the larger obstacles with cheekpieces reapplied and fancied to go close.

Made it 2-4 over fences when scoring at Haydock during the spring. No impact back from a break on the Flat at Kempton in September but showed the benefit of that run when making a winning return to jumping at Market Rasen 11 days later. Looks sure to be in the mix back over fences.

Maiden over hurdles but offered a bit more encouragement when third over C&D on chasing debut last month. Failed to progress from that at Exeter next time, and now first-time blinkers are applied to try and eke out that bit extra.

13:25 Sedgefield - 16 November 2023 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A few in with a squeak but preference is for THE KING OF MAY, who took another step back in the right direction when third at Carlisle earlier this month and back in cheekpieces, Brian Ellison's 9-y-o can add a third course success to his tally back over the larger obstacles. Fazayte won over hurdles last time so he could well emerge as the main danger returned to chasing, with Neigh Botha seemingly best of the rest.
