Fairly useful hurdler/chaser in Ireland and better than ever when making a winning start for new trainer Anthony Honeyball in 4-runner Fontwell handicap hurdle 5 weeks ago. The second won next time so a 6 lb rise looks fair.

Off the mark for present stable at Stratford (2m, soft) in spring 2022 but seen only 4 times since, fading into a below-par seventh back at Stratford when last seen in July.

Useful Flat performer who won a maiden at Wincanton and novice at Huntingdon (both 2m) on joining this yard last spring. Only sixth when sent off favourite for the Swinton at Haydock in May but that first experience of a big-field handicap should hold him in good stead. Remains capable of better.

All 5 career victories over hurdles gained on right-handed tracks, the latest at Musselburgh (2½m) last December. Patchy record since, finishing a well-held sixth on the Flat when last seen in May. A watching brief is advised.

Twenty eight runs since last win in 2020. Latest 6¼ lengths fifth of 7 to Whizz Kid at Wetherby (2m) was his best run since coming to Britain but never a threat and 2m probably a bit on short side for him.

Runner-up in this race on reappearance last year and also filled the same position in the Gerry Feilden here on next start. Things didn't go so well later in the campaign but has dropped to a good mark as a result and goes well fresh. Has had wind surgery.

Made a winning start for this stable in a novice at Hereford in November 2021 but not in the same form when fourth at Kelso 2 months later and not seen since. Can only watch unless the betting strongly hints otherwise.

Successful twice during first half of 2022. Lightly raced since but his fourth at Fontwell in April showed he retains his ability. Not in the same form when a remote fourth at Uttoxeter the following month and absent since.

Free-goer who isn't the easiest of rides but he is talented if channelling his energies in the right direction. His headstrong ways proved costly again on his Southwell reappearance but the fact he went off a heavily-backed 10/11 shot suggests his in-form stable were hopeful of a lot better.

BROOKIE readily saw off a subsequent winner at Fontwell on his first outing for the Anthony Honeyball yard and may be able to cope with a 6 lb rise. Although Brentford Hope failed to make a significant impact in the Swinton he remains a handicap hurdler with potential and is second choice ahead of last year's runner-up Grivetana.
