€48,000 3-y-o out of a bumper/2m hurdle winner. Never looked like winning on debut at Huntingdon during the spring, but there were signs of ability and he's likely to do better in time.

Picked up for £50,000 after getting on top close home on his sole start between the flags last November. Has joined a respected yard and needs close attention in the betting on this Rules debut. Yard also saddles My Friend Sean. Tongue strap applied.

Out of a winner and showed good deal of ability himself when second in 6-runner C&D bumper on debut in February. Subsequent effort back here in April represented a step in the wrong direction, but it's far too soon to write him off.

Held every chance when departing at the last on debut in a maiden point during the spring. Subsequently bought for £50,000 and it will be interesting to see what the market has to say.

Unseated rider sole start in points earlier this year. Yard's record in bumpers doesn't augur well and probably best watched on Rules debut.

Montmartre gelding out of a 2m hurdle winner, also 1½m-13.3f winner who stayed 2m on Flat. Doesn't appeal as a probable first-time-out winner on paper.

Cheap purchase who unseated rider at the start on debut at Stratford in August before landing a 3-runner affair at Newton Abbot the following month. That wasn't much of a race and she has more on her plate here.

€38,000 3-y-o, Sholokhov gelding. Half-brother to modest hurdler Guidedbythescience. Dam 19f-21f hurdle winner. Wears tongue strap on debut and the market should be revealing.

€16,500 3-y-o, Laverock gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to useful hurdler/chaser (2m-2½m winner) Charlie Stout. Another who will probably be better for the experience.

£10,000 3-y-o, €155,000 4-y-o. Half-sister to bumper winner/fair hurdler Horsted Valley and she landed a maiden point on debut in April. Very much of interest starting out under Rules and the market will be informative.

€20,000 3-y-o, Soldier of Fortune filly. Dam 2½m-25f hurdle/chase winner. Yard can get one ready first time out and she's worth a second look in the betting.

Ultimately beaten a fair way when third on debut in a 12-runner Newbury bumper in March, but that was still a fairly encouraging start to her career. In good hands and likely to do better before long.

Forecasts

Bellas Bridge (11/4), Diamond Dice (16/5), Navajo Indy (4/1), Irish Chorus (6/1), My Friend Sean (13/2), Matchadam (8/1), Future Fortune (12/1), Head Over Hinds (12/1), Chevington (16/1), Elauro (28/1), Jukebox Annie (40/1), West Hill Shadow (66/1), Inspector Maigret (100/1), Sixties Boy (150/1)

17:15 Hereford - 24 October 2023 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

DIAMOND DICE, Bellas Bridge and Matchadam are all of strong interest starting out under Rules for respected yards. The first-named is the only member of the trio who failed to make a winning debut between the flags, but he may well have done so but for falling at the last and it will look significant if the market speaks in his favour. Navajo Indy looks the pick of those with experience in this sphere and he merits respect.
