Costello's Cleaning Novices' Hurdle (GBB Race)

€10,000 3-y-o, Westerner gelding. Dam unraced sister to fairly useful hurdler/chaser (stayed 2½m) Baltiman. Off mark in Irish points at third attempt but clearly not short on speed given he won readily over 2m here 17 days ago. Penalty to carry but open to plenty of improvement.

Off the mark in Irish points at second attempt and justified support starting out under Rules in 6-runner maiden at Fontwell (17.7f) in March, responding well. Improved for step up to 20.5f when finding only a pretty useful one too good at Newbury 3 weeks ago. Big player with 7 lb conditional on.

Landed an Ayr bumper in cosy fashion on debut and found only one too good on hurdling debut there (2m) a year later, clear of rest. Should stay this far but was disappointing over C&D when last seen on Boxing Day. Since had a wind op.

Finished runner-up in his completed start in Irish points but little short-term promise both hurdles starts last month.

Presumably hard to train and looks limited.

Down the field in pair of bumpers. Hurdles debut wasn't devoid of promise but probably needs more time.
