Found improvement when off the mark in this sphere in first-time blinkers at Hereford (21f) in January and landed chase win number 2 at Uttoxeter (2½m, soft) 19 days ago. 3 lb rise looks fair. Respected.

Fair hurdle winner who made a good start to his chase career with cheekpieces added (retained) when second over 3m at Ayr in February. That form boosted by the winner, third, fourth and fifth all winning next time. Major player with improvement on cards.

Sprang a 28/1 surprise when striking on C&D reappearance but has rather predictably failed to back that up in 3 subsequent starts. Has first-time cheekpieces combined with a refitted tongue strap. Others preferred.

Point winner who made a successful start for this yard in Leicester novice hurdle last winter. Hasn't kicked on from that since but latest handicap chase third at Chepstow was creditable. Has first-time cheekpieces added to his regular tongue tie now.

Newcastle maiden hurdle winner last season. Promising second on his chase debut/reappearance there in November. Disappointing at Ayr on his 2 outings since but still early days and his yard's excellent form in recent weeks provides hope.

Dual point winner who made it 13th time lucky under Rules when landing a 25f Warwick veterans' chase 10 days ago on his first outing for Keiran Burke. Will be very competitive under a 7 lb penalty if showing up here in similar form.

Scored over hurdles at Kelso in October but hasn't reproduced that in 2 outings since, puling up at Doncaster last time. Switches to fences for the first time here. Gentleman de Mai looks the stable firrst string.

Hereford handicap hurdle winner in December and bounced back from a poor run at Ffos Las to make a winning start over fences at Fontwell (21.5f, good) in February. Matched that when third over 3m at Fakenham from his revised mark since.

Made a very good start to his chase career when winning at Hereford and Huntingdon in January. Latest Doncaster fifth would suggest the handicapper has him about right so he'll need to pull out more for first-time cheekpieces.

Runner-up twice off significantly higher marks last term, but he's hard to warm to based on what he's shown in 4 starts so far this season. Goes back up in trip now.

Five wins (all under Emma Smith-Chaston) in a very productive first half of the sesaon. Freshened up since a respectable sixth at Newcastle in November. Chance he'll need this first run back.

Winless since 2021 and produced another laboured effort when a distant last of 4 finishers at Hexham last week. Now refitted with the cheekpieces he wore when third over C&D in January but he's still tough to make a case for.

Backed at long odds, despite being 15 lb out of the handicap, and showed much improved form when off the mark in a C&D handicap in January. Not in anything like the same form twice since so his hopes are pinned on a return to this venue sparking a revival.

The form of GENTLEMAN DE MAI's Ayr chase debut second has been boosted a few times since so he's taken to go one better with improvement on cards. Last-time-out scorers Not Sure, Hotel du Nord and Tango Boy head the many dangers. It would also be no surprise to see Rowdy Rustler bounce back to form with the Lucinda Russell stable going so well.
