Horse silk
11/4
Runner-up in a point and has made a solid start under Rules, making it third time lucky in this sphere at Fontwell (17.7f) last time. However, he looks vulnerable here under a penalty.

5/1
£33,000 3-y-o out of a bumper/2½m hurdle winner, herself closely related to fairly useful 2½m hurdle winner Arrive Sir Clive. Represents powerful yard and very much one to note in the betting.

Fetched £62,000 after finishing second in a maiden point last month. Half-brother to a bumper/hurdles winner and it will look significant if the market speaks in his favour. Sports a tongue strap.

Half-brother to bumper winner/fairly useful hurdler I Spy A Diva, stays 3¼m, plus his dam was also successful in this sphere and over hurdles. Yard can ready one first time out and he needs a market check.

Attracted support ahead of his debut at Chepstow and he was a very promising second in that 13-runner bumper. Wasn't seen to best effect at Huntingdon next time and he remains capable of better.

Saladins Son92

Bought for £95,000 after landing a maiden point at the end of last year. Yard boasts a decent strike rate in bumpers (17% in recent seasons) and he's an appealing type.

Yard is no stranger to success in bumpers but this one is probably best watched on debut, unless the betting suggests otherwise.

Half-sister to bumper winner Hurricane Vichi but her yard is not renowned for winners in this sphere.

Out of a bumper winner but yard's record in races of this type is hardly compelling.

11/1
Flat-bred gelding who shaped fairly well when third of 8 on debut in a C&D bumper earlier this month. That experience won't be wasted on him and not without each-way hope.
|

Half-brother to modest hurdler Canastero and out of a 2¾m hurdles winner. Market should point the way.
|
Timeform
Closely related to 3 winners, including useful hurdler Ardlui and fair hurdler Nebula Storm, plus he's a half-brother to a further 2 winners. However, his yard is hardly a frequent source of winning newcomers.

150/1
Universal filly out of a 2m-19f hurdle/chase winner, also 9.7f-2m winner on Flat. Yard's strike rate in bumpers is modest and she'll likely come on for the run.

Forecasts

Duhallow Tommy (11/4), Saladins Son (4/1), Centara (5/1), Range (5/1), Rock House (5/1), I Got Stung (8/1), Hammer Dan (9/1), Light Sentence (11/1), Uggy Uggy Uggy (25/1), Pigeon Hill (33/1), Captain Bill (33/1), Malago Rose (80/1), West Hill Moth (80/1), Mini Mildred (150/1)

16:45 Taunton - 20 March 2023 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

This may well go to one of the likely-looking newcomers, with SALADINS SON possibly the pick of them. He fetched £95,000 after winning a maiden point in December and has joined a respected yard. Rock House, also successful on his sole start between the flags, is another appealing type, while Centara and Hammer Dan both need a close looking in the betting. Range is very much the pick of those with experience under Rules and merits respect, too.
