Lightly-raced maiden who ran his best race when fourth of 12 in novice hurdle at Plumpton (15.9f, soft) 38 days ago, albeit allowed plenty of rope. Into handicaps now and more required.

Carries his head awkwardly but got off the mark in refitted cheekpieces in 2m handicap at Leicester in November and has run at least as well in defeat both starts since. Should go well again.

Showed more like his fairly useful Flat form tried in a tongue tie when second in a Southwell novice last March. Hasn't been able to repeat that form but ran well both starts back on the level at Kempton last month.

Bumper winner who performed to a fair level when runner-up on the second of his 2 starts in maiden hurdles last term. Rather disappointing so far this season but this is his first start following a breathing op and it could be that dropping back in trip here will help.

Fair form in bumpers and caught the eye on qualifying run over C&D. Failed to build on that promise switched to a handicap back here last time, though.

Fairly useful maiden on the level who made a winning start over hurdles at Catterick in November, well on top finish. Went backwards from that run in cheekpieces at Kempton but got back on track when fourth at Wetherby 2 weeks ago. Respected on handicap debut.

Sold out of George Boughey's yard for 50,000 gns in August and would have made a winning hurdles debut had he applied himself fully over C&D in November. Only fourth of 9 at Kempton 10 weeks later but opening mark looks fair on debut form. Blinkers now replace cheekpieces.

Lightly-raced maiden who ran his best race when fifth of 17 on handicap debut at Doncaster (16.6f, good) 13 days ago. That was a hot race for the grade, so can't be dismissed from a 1 lb lower mark.

Caused an upset in 4-runner C&D juvenile event in October. Similar form at Fontwell the following month but ended year with a couple of disappointing efforts on the AW.

Forecasts

Charles St (3/1), Izayte (10/3), Artistic Choice (5/1), Bridge Road (11/2), Silver Atom (6/1), Daniel Deronda (14/1), Tenfold (18/1), Dusky Days (22/1), Anger Management (25/1)

13:50 Huntingdon - 9 February 2023 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

CHARLES ST isn't straightforward but his opening mark in this sphere looks workable judged on his debut form, so he receives the tentative vote armed with a handy weight-for-age allowance. Bridge Road can give another good account, while it's possible Silver Atom could take another step forward and be in the thick of the action, too.
