Beat Constitution Hill in a point and looked an exciting prospect himself as he easily won Catterick/Sedgefield handicap hurdles in January. Probably needed the run in a good-quality handicap at Ascot just over 5 weeks ago and he may well get back on the up today.

Rubbished his 66/1 SP when runner-up at Southwell on hurdle debut in March 2021 and showed that was no fluke when bolting up at Fontwell 6 months later. Looked no easy ride on return from 14 months off at Cheltenham recently but could figure provided a hood can help him settle.

Impressive winner of a listed juvenile at Musselburgh in February and showed the immediate benefit of a second breathing operation when scoring over C&D (good to soft) last month. 4 lb rise looks manageable and he should have a big say in proceedings.

Dual winner earlier this year but has failed to beat a rival on both outings since returning to action. In good hands so he shouldn't be written off.

Winner over hurdles on sole start in France and bettered opening efforts for present stable when running out a comfortable winner of a Musselburgh novice (16.4f) in March 2021. Not seen since disappointing a fortnight later but worth a market check on handicap debut.

Won twice at Wetherby last season but evidently slower to come to hand this season than last. Now operating from 6 lb below his last successful mark so this previous C&D winner shouldn't be discounted.

Won a Wetherby handicap hurdle last November and mostly good efforts since, including on the Flat this autumn (won at Ayr in September). Never landed a blow in the Greatwood at Cheltenham (16.4f, good to soft) 3 weeks ago but he's one to take seriously down in grade.

Likeable type who ran up to her best after 6 months off when runner-up at Fakenham (16f, soft) last month, pulling clear with a thriving sort. Up 4 lb in a better race so percentage call is to look elsewhere despite a fully-fledged rider taking over in the saddle.

Winner on debut for this yard at Sandown in March. Below that level all 3 subsequent starts, including on return at Plumpton just under 5 weeks ago (extremely easy to back). Handicapper eases his grip as a result.

Fairly useful 10f Flat winner. Similar level shown over hurdles and ran close to form after 7 months off when fourth at Warwick (16f, soft) last month. Remains low-mileage and likely has more to offer this term.

Forecasts

Impulsive One (9/4), First Impression (10/3), Nickle Back (5/1), Big Boy Bobby (7/1), Anyharminasking (15/2), Doctor Parnassus (16/1), Sorbet (18/1), Paros (18/1), Haafapiece (22/1), Privatory (50/1)

14:20 Huntingdon - 4 December 2022 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

FIRST IMPRESSION was unable to land a blow in the Greatwood at Cheltenham 3 weeks ago but John Quinn's charge had been in good form prior to that on the level so he gets the verdict to notch a third success over timber. Second choice is Impulsive One, who showed the immediate benefit of a second wind op when winning over C&D last month, while Anyharminasking and Nickle Back are another couple fancied to go well in a competitive-looking contest.
