Made a bright start over fences last season, winning handicaps at around 3m at this course and Chepstow on his first 2 outings. Disappointed in the Midlands Grand National on his final run, but he could yet do better over marathon trips.

Progressed again when landing handicap at Fakenham (29.1f) in May, but never really a threat on both subsequent starts since returning from 5 months off. Should be suited by this longer trip, though, with blinkers now applied.

Course winner who relished the step up in trip when recording a fourth success over fences at Bangor (29.6f) in February, never stronger than at the finish. Can make his presence felt on reappearance.

Benefited from the step up to a marathon distance when successful at Chepstow (30.6f) in March, before running to a similar level when third at Ffos Las next time. Not in the same form so far this season, but cheekpieces now go back on.

Quick off the blocks last season, scoring at this course and Wincanton on first 2 starts of the campaign when trained by Nick Williams. Below-par effort on return last month, but he's worth another try at long distances with cheekpieces reapplied.

Gained a third win over fences at Wincanton in March last year, but below form on only 2 outings last season. Off 16 months, back to best on first run since leaving Nigel Hawke when scoring at Ffos Las (23.8f) last month. Leading contender.

Made a winning start over fences at this course (24.3f) on reappearance last season but hasn't managed to go on from that effort since. Has enough to prove tried over this longer distance.

Enjoyed a productive 2021/22 season, winning 3 handicap chases at up to 26.9f, and stepped up on first 2 starts of the current campaign when second in conditionals' event at Wetherby 20 days ago. Can give his running again.

Gained a first chase success at Taunton (23f) in February and ran well on his next 2 starts. Failed to build on his return over hurdles at Perth in September, but this test of stamina will be more to his liking.

Fair form to his name for Henry de Bromhead in Ireland but has offered little on both starts so far for his current yard. Step up in trip not enough to tempt.

ALMINAR returned to his best on his stable/seasonal debut when scoring at Ffos Las last month and he looks well worth another try at marathon distances. The 9-y-o can see off the challenge of Don Herbager who relished the longer trip when successful on his final start last season, while Favori de Sivola could be capable of leaving his reappearance effort behind.
