For all that KAPONO was seen to maximum effect when scoring over 6f here last week, it's not every day that sprint handicaps are won by margins in excess of 4 lengths and it's no surprise that connections are keen to get another run into him before the assessor has his say. The 6-y-o has winning form at this trip and is likely to prove a tough nut to crack with similar conditions forecast. Torvi is second choice ahead of Cold Stare, the hat-trick seeking Deputy and Give It Some Teddy.
