Listed winner last summer and good third in a Haydock handicap off a 5 lb higher mark in September. Step back in the right direction (first run since being gelded) at York (5f, good to firm) recently and he's certainly one to consider.

Followed clear-cut Windsor reappearance success with a couple solid efforts in defeat, most notably when third in the 'Dash' at Epsom (5f. good). Wasn't seen to best effect at Ascot last time and possibilities here off 2 lb lower.

Mixed record here, but he did land a 7f handicap at this course in 2019 and went close over 6f early last month. Has remained in good form since. scoring in decisive fashion at Windsor on penultimate start, and won't be far away provided he copes with the drop to 5f.

Back to form with first-time cheekpieces accompanying the usual hood when fifth of 12 in 5f Newmarket handicap won by Celsius. That run can be marked up (probably at a disadvantage as he was a little detached from the main body) and, now 2 lb lower, he's in with a shout.

Low-mileage 4-y-o who resumed progress when making a winning reappearance on the Rowley Mile at Newmarket (5f, good) in May. Didn't get the best of runs when fourth behind Celsius on the July course there recently and definite chance if the fitting of cheekpieces helps eke out a little more.

Became increasingly untrustworthy last year, but back on track this season with victories in 5f handicaps at Ascot and most recently at Newmarket (5f, good to firm) where three of these rivals were adrift. 5 lb rise fair enough and he was a C&D winner at this meeting in 2019.

C&D winner in 2018 and again when landing this race in decisive fashion off 1 lb lower 12 months ago. Below par so far this year, though, and while he's dangerous to completely rule out, others are more appealing this time.

Bagged a couple of 5f handicaps last summer and returned to form when collared close home at Sandown (5f, good to firm) on penultimate start. However, wasn't in the same form over that C&D next time and looks vulnerable.

Lurking on a dangerous mark, now 9 lb below the mark off which he landed the Portland at Doncaster in 2020. That was the last time he tasted success, though, and has failed to build on his encouraging effort in the Epsom 'Dash' the last twice. Now tried in cheekpieces.

Form of the 5f Pontefract handicap he won on return in April is solid and last month's third over that C&D was a decent effort. Remains feasibly treated, but failed to make an impact on sole previous visit here and was below form at Windsor on Monday.

Losing run mounting up (hasn't hit the target subsequent to 2021 reappearance) but has edged down the weights as a consequence and caught the eye when third on first run following a wind op at Catterick (6f, good to firm). Each-way chance off an attractive mark.

Fallen plenty in weights and duly capitalised under a forceful ride when making all at Salisbury (5f, good to firm) last month. However, no obvious excuses when seventh in the Newmarket race won by Celsius last time.

Much lower in the weights compared to when he last got his head in front, but there have been very few positives to glean from his efforts so far this season and 7 lb 'wrong' at the weights here. Has undergone a wind op since his latest start.

Won three 5f AW handicaps on the bounce in March and arrives here on the back of a couple of solid efforts in defeat, latterly at Salisbury (5f, firm). This is a much tougher race, though, and he's well out of the handicap.

Aside from a near miss at Wolverhampton earlier this month, it's been a struggle this season and he was down the field at York on Saturday. Hard to warm to from miles out of the weights.

It's worth siding with NIGHT ON EARTH, who returned to form in this headgear combination when fifth to Celsius at Newmarket where he was beaten two lengths. He wasn't seen to best effect that day and has a real chance of reversing the placings with the winner, who he meets on 7 lb better terms. Atalis Bay and Embour have both slipped to handy marks and could be the main dangers.
