Bumper winner who didn't take to hurdling but took his record in sphere to 2-3 when scoring at Wolverhampton in first-time cheekpieces back in April. Makes handicap/turf debut today and he warrants plenty of respect after 3 months off.

Just the one win from 26 Flat runs and his efforts this month have hardly signalled that his record is about to improve. This is the shortest trip he's encountered and he needs to put a couple of lesser efforts behind him to feature.

Comfortably won this corresponding event last year and has been fairly consistent on the whole this term. However he raced too freely for his own good (also had no cover) when finishing well held at Newmarket a fortnight ago so needs to get back on track.

Scored at Leicester in May and posted couple of solid efforts in defeat since, latest when fourth at this track (1m) on first start for his new yard a fortnight ago (raced closer to pace than ideal). Fancied to be in the mix from this slightly lower mark.

Having an excellent year and notched his third win of the season under this rider at Chester a fortnight ago. That was his best effort for this yard yet and a 4 lb rise may not be enough to prevent him from going in again.

All three wins gained on the AW and he hasn't made much of an impact in four starts switched to turf this year. Had a wind op since last seen and the tongue strap is quickly discarded.

Notched pair of turf wins around this time last summer and has ran creditably in defeat on both starts this year, running what has become a typical race for him when fourth at Leicester back in May. Solid each-way claims.

Veteran who ended a losing run stretching back more than a year at Brighton last month. Ran creditably on the back of a 5 lb rise behind Carnival Zain at Chester a fortnight ago and he clearly retains plenty of enthusiasm.

Having finished outside the first 2 places on just one occasion this season, CARNIVAL ZAIN gets the verdict to notch a fourth success of the campaign. Micky Hammond's charge had plenty up his sleeve when scoring at Chester under this rider a fortnight ago and a 4 lb rise may not be enough to prevent the follow up. Global Esteem has posted a couple of solid efforts since his Leicester win so he's put forward as the main threat, with Lord P third on the list.
