Returned to form when second in a decent Punchestown contest (19.8f, good) on final start for Gavin Cromwell in May. However, on a stiff-looking mark starting out for new yard here and Castel Gandolfo appears to be the stable first-string.

Useful winning chaser who made it 3-5 in this sphere when landing a six-runner handicap at Worcester (2½m, good to soft) last month. Needs a new personal best up 6 lb in this stronger race, though.

Promising hurdler in 2020 and scored twice switched to fences last year. Beaten a long way out back from eight months off in a handicap chase at Newton Abbot, but looked rusty that day and better expected off an attractive mark back in this sphere with cheekpieces enlisted.

Notched third hurdles success at Doncaster in November and decent efforts in defeat since, including when fifth of 13 in a competitive Cartmel handicap (17.2f, good to soft) last time. Remains on a fair mark and he's not discounted.

Irish raiderwho acquitted himself well on first two handicap starts in this sphere prior to hitting the crossbar in a maiden at Roscommon (15.4f, good) recently. Likely to get his head in front sooner rather than later, but may find this too competitive.

Enhanced good strike rate over hurdles with victories at Bangor and Aintree before finishing a solid third off this mark Cartmel (17.2f, good to soft) 20 days ago. Not without each-way hope, but needs a career-best if he's to bag this prize.

Fairly useful at best on the Flat and made it two wins from four hurdles starts when getting the better of subsequent scorer Tardree in a Stratford novice (16.3f, good to soft) last time. Much more on his plate on handicap debut in this sphere.

Useful Flat performer who opened hurdles account at Perth in May. Duly followed up in a Kelso novice (16.2f, good to firm) later that month and, with further progress likely now that he makes the switch to handicap company, a bold show is on the cards.

Has returned from a break in good order, third at Warwick prior to scoring in emphatic fashion at Huntingdon (15.8f, good). Up 12 lb for that, but he was useful on the Flat and could easily have more to offer in this sphere.

Got back on track in blinkers when second of 11 at Haydock in April. Mistakes proved costly when fourth in a six-runner Kelso handicap (16.2f, good to firm) next time and will need to jump more fluently if he's to play a leading role here.

Took well to hurdles last year, scoring twice at Stratford. Found Grade 2 company too hot on latest start in this sphere, but this is more realistic and confirmed wellbeing by scoring on the Flat last month. High on the shortlist.

CIRQUE ROYAL has clicked over hurdles since returning from a break in May, scoring in good style at Perth and Kelso, and he is taken to complete the hat-trick now pitched into a handicap off a mark which probably underestimates him. Galata Bridge coasted home at Huntingdon and is greatly respected, while Caramelised remains with potential in this sphere and Pisgah Pike will be a threat if the return to this sphere/new headgear have the desired effect.
