£160,000 Kodiac colt who was nicely on top when landing 5-runner maiden at Yarmouth on debut. Well down the pack in the Windsor Castle at the Royal meeting here a week later, but sights lowered now and he's a big player off what looks a fair opening mark.

Benefitted from the step up to 6f when opening his account from the front in a Leicester maiden in May. Subsequent effort at Epsom was poor, but worth another chance now pitched into a nursery back on a more conventional track.

Left low-key debut well behind when runner-up at Brighton. Again found just one too good upped to 6f at Chepstow (good to firm) last month and should pick up a race before long, but one or two of these make greater appeal.

Experience proved key as she made all in 5f Catterick maiden in May, battling well and just holding on from subsequent winner Lady Hollywood (the third has also won since). Underperformed at Beverley next time, but no surprise if she were to bounce back for yard with a good record in this race.

Bred to be a sharp speedy 2-y-o and belied market weakness as she won 5f Doncaster novice on debut. That wasn't a particularly strong race, though, and she was seemingly put in her place at Beverley next time.

Plenty of speed in his pedigree and while he hasn't threatened in three qualifying runs, it's entirely possible that he will be seen in a better light now pitched into a nursery. Not discounted.

Forecasts

Far Shot (3/1), It's Chico Time (7/2), Fragrance (4/1), Blatant (11/2), Parr Fire (6/1), Dayyan (13/2)

14:15 Ascot - 8 July 2022 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Though FRAGRANCE was a shade disappointing at Beverley, the form of her Catterick maiden win is working out fairly well and she is of strong interest for a yard that has saddled the winner of this nursery three times since 2016. It may have been a case of too much too soon for Far Shot in the Windsor Castle and he is well worth another chance now going down the nursery route, given the promise he showed on debut at Yarmouth. He is the clear main danger ahead of Blatant and Dayyan.
