Horse silk
18/1
Cheap purchase who showed little on debut at Chepstow in February and looks more of a long-term project.

Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler Hey Bud (2½m winner). Yard is hardly synonymous with winning newcomers and this one is probably best watched.

Fetched £30,000 after unseating rider at the last in an Irish point in February (likely to have finished second). Joined a top yard and this brother to fair hurdler Mullins Cross is one to consider on Rules debut.

11/8
Decisive winner of an Irish point in April, subsequent to which she was picked up for £75,000. Very much of interest for a leading yard which boasts a healthy strike rate in bumpers. Engaged 8.35 Uttoxeter Thursday.

Fetched €8,500 as a 3-y-o. Dam, 17f-21f hurdle/chase winner in France, herself a half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser in France (15f-23f winner) Vision de Maitre. Worth a second look in the betting on debut.

12/1
Telescope filly. Half-sister to 4 winners, including fair hurdler Fairy Alisha. Yard has yet to saddle a bumper winner (0-13 in this sphere) and she will probably come on for the run.

Forecasts

Tango Arumba (11/8), Mark The Man (7/4), Theharderyouwork (5/1), Flower Of Gower (12/1), Testflight (18/1), Bright Focus (22/1)

20:36 Newton Abbot - 10 June 2022 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

MARK THE MAN gets the nod on the assumption that Tango Arumba, who is due to run at Uttoxeter on Thursday evening, doesn't go to post. The selection looked booked for second place when unseating his rider at the last on his sole start between the flags and makes his Rules debut in what looks a very winnable race. Theharderyouwork could be the one for the forecast, again assuming that Tango Arumba doesn't take her chance.
