Won his first two starts impressively last season then shaped as if still in form over 2m on both subsequent outings. Satisfactory return to action when a close third in race with not that much pace on at Doncaster just over a fortnight ago and he looks well-handicapped.

Dual scorer on the turf last year (including over C&D). Unable to quite reach those levels since, his reappearance effort at Doncaster 6 weeks ago no more than respectable. Place claims is probably the best he can hope for.

Doubled his career tally when scoring in the mud at Newbury in October. Not quite reached that level on both starts since but with his mark easing a shade and forecast showers no issue, he merits consideration with Silvestre De Sousa booked for the first time.

Irish-raider who produced her best effort to date after 7 months off when runner-up at Navan 15 days ago, well positioned the way the race developed. Not discounted if she can build on that effort here.

Hit the crossbar 3 times last year and having shaped as if the run was needed on return, he belatedly opened his account with a bit up his sleeve at Chelmsford (14f) 17 days ago. Still somewhat unexposed as a stayer and should hold his own in this.

Scored 3 times on the turf last year but was too fresh after 7 months off when down the field over C&D last week. That should've taken the edge off her and it would be no surprise if she's much closer to form here.

Navan maiden winner (10f, soft) back in 2020. Mixed bag in handicaps in Ireland last year and ran no sort of race at Ayr on first outing since leaving Ger Lyons after 10 months off recently. Significantly back up in trip but can only be watched after that effort.

Took his record at Southwell to 2-2 just under a fortnight ago, having to be right on his game to fend off a stable-switcher. Nudged up just 2 lb and with conditions no issue, he has to be considered in his current mood.

Likeable, reliable type who wasn't ideally placed the way things developed at Doncaster 15 days ago. He's possibly more effective on the all-weather (all 3 wins coming on an artificial surface) but been given a chance by the assessor dropped 3 lb.

Bath scorer last April but seen just once in 2021 after that success a month later. Looked rusty on reappearance at this track a week ago and this outing should reveal what ability remains.

Twice-raced for Andre Fabre in France early last year but having been sold very cheaply (5,000 gns), shaped with little promise at Musselburgh back in October. Handicapper taken a stab with a mark of 70 but percentage call is to look elsewhere.

Enjoyed a fruitful 2021 with 4 wins (including one over hurdles) but having been running no more than respectably over timber this year, he didn't perform any better back on the Flat at Pontefract last month. Back in trip and blinkers applied for first time for this yard.

Satisfactory return at Doncaster in March but unable to build on that effort having been well backed at Salisbury 18 days ago. Continues to tumble in the weights without showing much sign of taking advantage.

18:18 Hamilton - 8 May 2022 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Another fiercely-competitive contest in which EMARATY HERO is put forward as the answer. Grant Tuer's charge shaped encouragingly despite being caught further back than ideal on his return to action at Doncaster just over a fortnight ago and that effort should've put him spot on for this. Baileys Derbyday is still somewhat unexposed as a stayer so he's fancied to give the selection most to think about, with front-runner Cloud Thunder and Uncharted another couple worth considering.
