Looked as good as ever when scoring at Wincanton in October but merely underlined his inconsistency when pulled up there following month.

Relished the step up in trip when making a winning start to cross-country career at Cheltenham in November. Disappointed in similar event at the Festival there last time so needs to bounce back.

Smart chaser at up to an easy 3m for Paul Nicholls/Dan Skelton. Off 11 months and pulled up for new connections in Midlands Grand National at Uttoxeter. However, shaped much better when 10th in Grand National at Aintree (failed to stay). Back down to last winning mark.

Won at Newbury in January and looked likely to follow up in the Sky Bet Chase at Doncaster next time, collared after typically idling in front. Has an all-or-nothing profile nowadays, however, and pulled up last 2 starts.

Bumper/dual hurdles winner who impressed when making a successful chase debut at Uttoxeter (22.5f). Added a small-field win at Taunton in December but disappointed both starts since. Headgear now applied.

In fine form last spring/summer when landing the Summer Plate at Market Rasen. Out of sorts in the autumn/winter but big step back in the right direction back from a break when fourth of 29 in Topham at Aintree 3 weeks ago. Potentially well handicapped if able to build on that.

Career-best display when off the mark over fences at Doncaster (20.5f) in December. Jumping failed to pass muster when falling back at that venue in January and didn't fully convince over this trip at Ayr 4 weeks ago.

As good as ever when scoring over hurdles at Sedgefield 5 weeks ago. Not seen over fences since scoring on his second chase start at Hexham in June.

Looked better than ever when opening his chase account at Ludlow and defied a penalty by a narrow margin there 5 days later. More needed again up 6 lb in better race.

Gained breakthrough success over fences in this race last year off 2 lb higher on debut for this yard. Bit of a mixed record since but last 2 placed efforts were respectable. No surprise to see him go well in first-time cheekpieces.

15:30 Uttoxeter - 30 April 2022 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

FRANCKY DU BERLAIS thrived around this time last season and he's of interest again now off a potentially handy mark after his encouraging fourth in the Topham at Aintree 3 weeks ago. Captain Tommy won this last year off 2 lb higher and arrives here on the back of a couple of decent placed efforts, while Romain de Senam isn't taken lightly back at a more suitable trip and racing off his last winning mark.
