Useful chaser who, having left Tom George, shaped as if retaining ability when second of 7 in hunter chase at Southwell last month. Jumped poorly at Fakenham next time, though. Uphill task.

Lightly raced for Nicky Henderson but hasn't really come up wit the goods since switched to hunters, only fourth at Bangor 55 days ago. Visor goes back on now, but there are questions to answer.

Classy chaser who recorded a career best when edging ahead late on in 3m Ascot handicap in January. Out of his comfort zone in the Kim Muir last time, but that's best excused and he was third in last year's renewal of this event. Strong claims.

Fair chaser in Ireland and opened his account for current stable when landing a point in March. Unlikely to have enough quality for an event like this.

Fairly useful veteran who took a step back in the right direction when fourth of 13 in a Sandown handicap almost 3 months ago. Drop back to this trip is in his favour, and he strikes as an interesting contender.

Scored over fences for Henry de Bromhead last summer and, fit from points, shaped better than the result over a trip that stretched him at Carlisle 18 days ago. Return to this distance should help, but he has plenty to find.

Talented chaser for Willie Mullins and won a point by a wide margin for current connections. Made an impressive winning start to life in hunters at Ludlow, then shaped like a non-stayer at the festival last month, so not one to write off back in trip.

Cheltenham Hunter Chase winner who, although turned over at odds on, showed he retains plenty of ability at Bangor last time. Likely to be spot on now, and he has the ability/toughness to make a big impact.

Has won his last couple of hunters, impressive at Warwick in January, and a recent outing between the flags should have put him spot on for this. Tongue tied now, and he's not a forlorn hope.

Useful chaser who has been in a lull this season but offered a bit more encouragement under a positive ride in a Cross-Country event at Punchestown 53 days ago. Not one to write off with cheekpieces refitted.

Rules record in the last couple of years is underwhelming and he didn't fire between the flags last time, so he's easily passed over.

PORLOCK BAY picked up a big prize last year and, having returned with a satisfactory run at Bangor in February, he's all set for a bold showing having skipped the Cheltenham festival this time around. The classy Jett also deserves respect and last year's second Latenightpass should give another good account this time round.
