Good second of 6 in handicap chase (6/1) at Taunton (23f, good to soft) 15 days ago, going with enthusiasm. Clearly well treated on past exploits and clear signs of a revival lately.

Useful chaser who ran well when second over C&D in December and, although he's been disappointing since, looks handicapped to win if he can bounce back with cheekpieces refitted.

Useful hurdler/chaser who ended his time for Nicky Henderson in good order but hasn't fired on either start for current stable, back over hurdles at Wincanton last month. Others make more appeal.

Dual hurdles winner who came good over fences in novice handicap in December. Only up 3 lb and another display of sound jumping would put him in the mix.

Low-mileage hurdler (successful twice) who improved in first-time cheekpieces to open his account over fences at Market Rasen on Boxing Day. Underperformed since, but too soon to write off.

Useful in France and shaped well when fourth in the Grand Sefton at Aintree. Giving it another good go until exiting in luckless fashion next time, and possibly failed to stay at Plumpton last time.

Ex-pointer who made a successful debut over fences in a thin Carlisle handicap (2½m) on return in October. Creditable third both subsequent starts and may yet have a bigger effort in him.

Forecasts

Bobhopeornohope (4/1), Jimmy The Digger (9/2), Slate House (9/2), I K Brunel (9/2), Didero Vallis (7/1), Kilbrook (9/1), Valtor (10/1), Via Dolorosa (11/1), Road To Rome (14/1), Aubusson (66/1)

15:35 Ludlow - 23 February 2022 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

DIDERO VALLIS has disappointed the last twice but, prior to that, he was a good second over C&D from a 5 lb higher mark, so a chance is taken on him to land this open-looking handicap with cheekpieces refitted. Slate House looks on the way back, so he's considered, while last-time-out winner I K Brunel is likely to be on the premises again.
