Found only one too good on both outings last season before showing improved form to get off the mark at Ascot on return, well on top finish. Needs considering.

Hurricane Cat gelding. Eighth of 15 in bumper (4/1) at Chepstow, shaping better than the bare result having raced with the first 2 for much of the race. Should improve.

16/1, looked a decent prospect when winning 9-runner bumper at this C&D (slow) on NH debut 34 days ago by 2 lengths from Zucayan, soon clear. Open to progress.

Left his lowly debut form well behind when scoring at Huntingdon, coming from well off the pace. Step up in trip will suit.

Confirmed the encouragement of his debut when running out a comfortable winner of Aintree bumper. Far from disgraced when sixth of 15 in listed event at Cheltenham on New Year's Day.

Forecasts

Estacas (15/8), Our Jester (5/2), So Scottish (9/2), Legionar (11/2), Swapped (10/1), Carrigdoun Boy (12/1), Deere Mark (16/1), Hurricane Deal (18/1), Gentle Fire (28/1), Herecomesfreddie (50/1), Zucayan (80/1), All About Logan (100/1), Honore (300/1)

12:50 Lingfield - 23 January 2022 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

OUR JESTER showed improved form when making a winning return in what is traditionally a strong bumper at Ascot and tops the shortlist in what looks a competitive event. German-raider Estacas beat a subsequent winner when making a winning debut at Ascot so must be respected, while Carrigdoun Boy looked a good prospect when making a winning start at Southwell.

  1. OUR JESTER
  2. ESTACAS (GER)
  3. CARRIGDOUN BOY (IRE)
