Bumper winner in Ireland for Tom Taaffe who made a successful start over hurdles for new yard when seeing off 6 rivals over 2m at Huntingdon in October. Bare form nothing special but more to come.

Fairly useful 3-y-o on the Flat for John Gosden and has made a promising start over hurdles since returning from a long absence, placed twice before winning at Ludlow. Looks sure to go well again.

Useful in bumpers, winning at Stratford and better form in defeat at Cheltenham twice since (third in listed latterly). Should make mark over hurdles for yard which has won last 2 runnings of this.

Fair Flat winner but only modest form in 2 hurdle runs last month and likely more one for handicaps after this.

An interesting opener. SONNING and Stream of Stars both arrive on the back of ready victories and look capable of better again, with a narrow preference for the former. Chris Gordon is seeking a hat-trick of wins in this contest and Aucunrisque has certainly achieved enough in bumpers to think he can make his presence felt here.
