Proved disappointing last season but he's become well treated as a result and there was a bit more encouragement in his reappearances at this course. Up in trip with cheekpieces back on.

Dual hurdle winner last term, signing off with 25f Catterick handicap win in March. Showed aptitude when fourth at this course on chasing debut but inexperience could catch him out in this big field.

Winless run stretches fifteen runs back to 2017 and, while his 3 efforts this term have been at least respectable, it's hard to imagine his jumping will hold up in such a competitive event.

Landed a veterans' event at Haydock on final outings last season but was let down by jumping at this course on reappearance. Likely to find a race of this nature too competitive.

Unreliable type who has failed to get his head in front since 2017. Has returned with a couple of solid placed efforts, though, and he's a thorough stayer.

Ex-pointer who left chasing exploits behind when making a successful chasing debut at Chepstow last time, forging clear in the style of one who will be well suited by this longer trip. Strong claims.

Has relished the switch to chasing this season, making it two from two in this discipline when again making all at Chepstow a month ago. Another bold showing is on the cards.

Scored in the mud at Taunton in February and backed it up with a respectable third at Wincanton. This is a tricky assignment on reappearance, though.

Five-time chase winner last term who has had a couple of spins over hurdles this term and should be well served by a return to this sphere. Others look better treated, though.

Useful chaser at his best but not the force of old and looked rusty at Chepstow on reappearance, so others are more appealing.

One-time fairly useful chaser (off over 3 years prior to this season's return) and showed he retains some ability when runner-up at Uttoxeter back in this sphere last time. Might not build on that.

YOUNG OFFENDER was marking time over hurdles last term and he duly looked a different proposition upped in trip/switched to chasing for his return at Chepstow, scoring in ready fashion. He shapes as if this longer trip will bring about further improvement, so he's narrowly preferred to On Call, who has also benefited from going over the larger obstacles this season. Montanna is also a player.

  1. YOUNG OFFENDER (IRE)
  2. ON CALL (IRE)
  3. MONTANNA
