Mahler gelding who impressed with the way he quickened when landing an AW bumper at Lingfield in February. Not disgraced at Newbury next time, so notable hurdling newcomer back from 7 months off.

Big price and down the field in a Warwick bumper 11 months ago, looking in need of experience, so he's likely to have an educational start over hurdles.

Off the mark at the fourth attempt in maiden points, but no promise as yet in this sphere.

Well-bred sort who, in a tongue tie, was a bit underwhelming when only third in a bumper at Wincanton 10 months ago. Will learn from that experience, and top yard should have him well prepared.

No promise in a couple of bumpers and set for another struggle now attentions are turned to hurdling.

Half-brother to Put The Kettle On who left the form of his bumper debut well behind when an encouraging third over C&D last month. Liable to take another step forward, so solid claims.

Made winning debut at Punchestown in March for Colin Bowe and, while he was found out in a better race here on reappearance, he should strip fitter for it. One to note now hurdling.

Forecasts

Young Butler (5/6), Iceburgh Bay (7/2), Offyoupop (13/2), Ballygoe (15/2), Last Quarter (9/1), Come On Gruff (16/1), Mizz Moondance (66/1), Devonshire Rocco (150/1), Towtheline (200/1), Doran's Bridge (250/1), Schiaparelli Teddy (300/1)

14:55 Chepstow - 19 November 2021 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

YOUNG BUTLER has plenty to recommend him on breeding and started his hurdling career in a positive manner when third over C&D last month. With improvement expected, he's fancied to get the job done, although point recruit Iceburgh Bay looks a formidable opponent, and there's a good chance that Offyoupop steps up on his sole start in a bumper, so it's unlikely to be plain sailing for the selection.

  1. YOUNG BUTLER (IRE)
  2. ICEBURGH BAY (IRE)
  3. OFFYOUPOP (IRE)
