In good form at present, taking his record at Haydock to 3 wins from 4 starts last week, suited by way race developed . Will need to be better than ever to land this.

Ended his time with Joseph O'Brien with a couple of runner-up efforts in big-field handicaps at the Curragh this spring but found run of good form coming to a halt on yard debut last time. Needs more.

Started 2021 with a pair of very useful efforts on turf at Meydan. In nothing like the same form on dirt next couple of starts and similar story on return at Royal Ascot last month. Others preferred.

Looked promising in novices last year, particularly impressive when giving weight and a beating to useful Dollar Bid at Wolverhampton. Needed run on handicap bow/return here last time so is respected.

Dual handicap winner last summer who ran up to best to prove his stamina when winning 15-runner handicap at this course (8.8f, good to firm, 4/1) 4 weeks ago. Should remain competitive up 6 lb.

Holding his form well at present and put it all together to win Carlisle Bell handicap (7.8f) 17 days ago. No surprise to see him out again quickly and he's respected nudged up 3 lb.

C&D winner who confirmed his return to form when runner-up at Newcastle 16 days ago, ideally needing a stronger gallop back on the all-weather. Another step forward needed to feature.

Scored at Deauville in January but offered little on first start for this yard after 6 weeks off on UK debut at Redcar last month. Can only be watched on the back of that.

Career best when winning 7-runner handicap at Hamilton (good to firm) 24 days ago, forging clear. Isn't a frequent winner but manner of that success suggests he's one to be interested in again.

Dual juvenile winner who has taken it up another notch this term, scoring in good style over 7f at this course in May. Again failed to stay upped to 1m at Haydock last time so best to look elsewhere.

Fairly useful performer who ran at least as well as previously to shed maiden tag at Windsor (8.1f, soft, 11/4) 12 days ago. Opening mark looks a shade harsh so others make more appeal.

13:45 York - 10 July 2021 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A fiendishly-competitive opener which can go the way of Iain Jardine's JUMP THE GUN, who proved better than ever to justify strong market support when bolting up at Hamilton last month. He requires a career best to take this, but given the manner of that success, is taken to defy an 8 lb rise in the weights. La Trinidad, Ajyaall and Hortzadar are just a handful of potential dangers.

  1. JUMP THE GUN (IRE)
  2. LA TRINIDAD
  3. AJYAALL (FR)
