Fairly useful 2yo who failed to reproduce that level of form in only two outings last year. Has a bit to prove back from another 7 months off.

Eleven runs since last win in 2020. 6/1, creditable ¾-length second of 15 to Mutanaaseq in handicap at this C&D (good to firm) 12 days ago. Thereabouts again if in similar form.

Easily best effort for new yard when length third of 15 to Mutanaaseq in handicap at this C&D (good to firm) 12 days ago, running on.

Landed a York novice and Beverley nursery (both 5f) as a juvenile. Should prove as effective at 6f and clearly an interesting contender as a very much unexposed 3-y-o.

Posted a couple of good runner-up efforts before seeing off a few of these rivals to score over C&D (good to firm) 12 days ago, suited by strong pace. Should still be very competitive up 4 lb.

Winner of this race in 2018 and 2019. 11/1, shaped well when 2½ lengths fifth of 15 to Mutanaaseq over C&D (good to firm) 12 days ago, making effort earlier than ideal. Needs considering.

Thirteen runs since last win in 2019. Tenth of 11 in handicap (22/1) at Hamilton (6f, good to soft) 32 days ago. Blinkers back on. Others more persuasive.

Pair of Wolverhampton novice wins for Jim Goldie in December but has found life tough in handicaps so far this year. Mark on the slide as a result but has too much to prove at present.

Forecasts

Strongbowe (3/1), Mutanaaseq (7/2), The Armed Man (9/2), Restless Endeavour (7/1), Dick Datchery (15/2), North Wind (9/1), The Bell Conductor (10/1), Flavius Titus (16/1), J R Cavagin (16/1), Water Of Leith (20/1), Khabib (28/1)

13:40 Thirsk - 15 June 2021 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

THE ARMED MAN looks to be coming to the boil again and can reverse recent course form with a couple of these and land a third win in this contest. Mutanaaseq and Dick Datchery were ahead of the selection in first and second last time and ought to figure again, while it'll be interesting to see if there's any confidence behind unexposed 3-y-o J R Cavagin on his return to action.

  1. THE ARMED MAN
  2. MUTANAASEQ (IRE)
  3. DICK DATCHERY (IRE)
