Multiple winner between the flags and, having attracted support, shaped encouragingly when third in hunter at Catterick on Rules debut. Big claims if he can build on that.

Well established between the flags, winning multiple times (including in April). May have been unsuited by conditions on hunter debut 15 months ago, so not one to write off.

Point winner who showed first form under Rules when second in uncompetitive novice chase at Catterick a couple of months ago. Uncertain to back that up, though.

Has enjoyed a good deal of success in points and, although eventually pulled up, he shaped with encouragement for a long way in hunter at Leicester 79 days ago. One to consider.

Dual winning pointer (unplaced last time) but pulled up in a hunter at Catterick a couple of months ago on his sole Rules outing. Others more appealing.

Multiple point winner who has looked only modest under Rules. Good third in hunter at Kelso last time but this demands a lot more.

Fair form under Rules and, while pulled up in a hunter at Carlisle 48 days ago, he's been third between the flags since, so should take a hand in this weak affair.

Poor maiden hurdler/chaser who was only fifth in a hunter at Kelso 27 days ago. Easily passed over.

Multiple winning pointer, including on latest start, but hard to recommend based on either of his efforts under Rules earlier this year.

Rules form is uninspiring but was at least back on track when second in at Kelso 27 days ago. This looks a tougher assignment.

Forecasts

Matts Commission (9/5), Dr Kananga (2/1), Snow Castle (7/1), Irish Anthem (17/2), Roderick Random (14/1), Matthew Man (20/1), Merrion Avenue (20/1), Dressedforsuccess (25/1), Wayupinthebox (25/1), Worcester Pearmain (25/1), Some Ambition (150/1)

15:55 Hexham - 8 May 2021 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

DR KANANGA has plenty of point wins to his name and was strong in the betting prior to an encouraging Rules debut in a stronger hunter than this at Catterick a couple of months ago. If he can build on that he may well be able to open his account under Rules, although Snow Castle and Matts Commission should ensure it's not all plain sailing for the selection.

  1. DR KANANGA
  2. SNOW CASTLE (IRE)
  3. MATTS COMMISSION (IRE)
