Mr Clarksont,v33
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-12| J: David Noonan| T: D Pipe| OR:  120| CD
10/1
C&D winner who produced his best effort for a while when runner-up in a first-time visor off this reduced mark at Newton Abbot (26.5f) last month. Repeat of that would give him every chance here.

Promising start to his career during 2018/19 campaign, but ultimately proved disappointing over fences and fitting of cheekpieces/return to this sphere failed to do the trick at Newbury last time.

Runner-up over hurdles on debut in France in 2019, and positives to glean from his efforts for new yard late last year. May do better now handicapping on back of a wind op/fitted with tongue tie.

Has struggled since winning Uttoxeter handicap for lady riders last March, but he's now 2 lb below that mark and recent effort over 23.6f at Chepstow was respectable.

Off the mark at Warwick in December and showed improvement both in terms of form and jumping-wise when adding a big-field C&D handicap to his CV 13 days ago. Another bold show anticipated.

Pulled up on handicap debut at Wincanton in January, but has shown greater spark at Newbury the last twice, latterly fourth of 11 off this mark upped to 24.2f. Should make his presence felt.

Dual Irish-point winner who bounced back following a couple of non-completions when runner-up on recent debut for new yard at Ludlow (21.2f). 1 lb lower now and he's not without hope.

Runner-up in handicaps at Fontwell either side of narrowly winning one over 25f at Huntingdon in December. Still, a clear personal-best is required off this career-high mark.

All the better for his reappearance when making a winning hurdles bow at Hereford in November. Hasn't progressed since, though, and beaten 15½ lengths when fourth to Butler's Brief over C&D recently.

Forecasts

Butler's Brief (9/4), Santon (4/1), Honest Exchange (9/2), Young Offender (9/2), Presentedwithwings (17/2), Mr Clarkson (10/1), The Tin Miner (12/1), Present Value (12/1), Fulgurix (18/1), Solstice Star (22/1)

16:07 Worcester - 6 May 2021 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

The pick of several appealing candidates is MR CLARKSON, who was a C&D winner on his sole previous visit here in 2019 and returned to form in this headgear combination when hitting the crossbar at Newton Abbot last time. Honest Exchange is feared, along with recent C&D scorer Butler's Brief and Fulgurix, who may well have more to offer now pitched into a handicap. Santon is also shortlisted.

  1. MR CLARKSON (IRE)
  2. HONEST EXCHANGE (IRE)
  3. BUTLER'S BRIEF (IRE)
