Unreliable over hurdles but made a winning chase debut at Perth, jumping fluently. Trip too sharp at Warwick (2½m, soft) last time and can make his presence felt back up in distance here.

Maiden hunter chase winner at Cartmel in 2019 and twice runner-up in handicap chases there last summer. Creditable fourth at Carlisle latest and now tried in a tongue strap and cheekpieces refitted.

Though his breakthrough success was a long time coming, FIRST CLASS RETURN did the job in good style over C&D last week and it's hard to envisage him being turned over under a penalty. His Dream will appreciate this step back up in trip and better ground, and he is marginally preferred to Commit Or Quit for forecast purposes.
