9/1
Casamento gelding who put speed to good use when landing Lingfield (AW) bumper on debut 13 months ago. No easy task under penalty and shaped as though he'd come on for his Catterick return in December

11/1
Cameron Highland gelding who displayed promise amidst greenness when third in a Ffos Las bumper (15.8f) in October. Somewhat disappointing at Southwell since but too soon to be writing him off.

Timeform
Only cost £2,000 as a 3yo but showed clear signs of ability when fourth in a Wincanton bumper (15.3f) in November. Feasible to think he can do better with that under his belt.

Doctor Dino gelding. Dam unraced. Easy to back (sent off at 33/1) and never really involved on November's bumper debut at Uttoxeter. Looks a longer-term project.

€80,000 3-y-o, Secret Singer half-brother to useful hurdler/high-class chaser Black Corton. Dam ran twice. Kept on to take third on debut at Ludlow in November and one to note for leading yard.

Timeform
Exceeded market expectations when third in a Doncaster bumper (16.5f) in November and possible was guilty of overdoing things in front back at that venue last month, dropping away.

£40,000 5-y-o. Off mark in Irish points at third attempt last time and some promise to glean from Rules/bumper debut fifth at Newbury (16.3f, heavy) shaping like a stayer. May find this sharp enough.

€32,000 3-y-o Milan gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to useful hurdler/smart chaser (stayed 35f) Double Seven. Runner-up sole start in Irish points (Nov 8) and the betting may well unearth some clues.

Robin Des Champs gelding who made some appeal on paper but ultimately shaped as if in need of the experience when last of 7 in a listed bumper at Cheltenham in November. This should reveal more.

3/1
£60,000 buy after winning third start in Irish points (Feb 2020) and is a half-brother to smart hurdler Jason The Militant, so one to note making Rules debut for top yard (had wind op).
|
Timeform
Walk In The Park half-brother to connection's useful chaser Cogry. Unsurprisingly shaped like a stayer when seventh of 9 in a Newcastle bumper (14f) in December. Entitled to come forward.

Forecasts

Will Carver (3/1), Gala De Corton (4/1), Earth Company (9/2), I Hope Star (9/1), Farceur De Maulne (11/1), Bennie Boy (11/1), Lavorante (12/1), Galore Desassences (16/1), Golden Roc (18/1), Blended Stealth (18/1), Let It Loose (28/1)

12:35 Kempton - 11 February 2021 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

An interesting opener with the vote in favour of newcomer WILL CARVER. He makes a good deal of appeal on paper and represents a leading outfit, so it would come as no surprise to see him sharp enough to play a lead role. Earth Company and Gala de Corton both shaped promisingly on their respective debuts and can also play a part.

  1. WILL CARVER (IRE)
  2. EARTH COMPANY (IRE)
  3. GALA DE CORTON (FR)
