Shamardal colt who dominated a novice at Doncaster on debut and gave Chindit a race when second in the Champagne Stakes there last time. Could get closer to that rival with benefit of experience.

Highly progressive colt who overcame a positional bias to land the Mill Reef at Newbury and, with even more to come, looks well capable of playing a hand on his Group 1 debut.

Potentially top-notch colt who bolted up at Leopardstown on debut and resumed winning ways in the Champions Juvenile Stakes there last time. Big player having first go at the top level.

Unbeaten in 3 outings, showing further progress and a quality to attitude to land the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster by a length from Alkumait last time. Big player if he handles the track.

Confirmed debut promise when scoring comfortably in a novice at Chelmsford 20 days ago but this company looks way beyond him.

Overcame inexperience to make a winning debut at Haydock. Good in the Gimcrack but couldn't continue his progress at Newmarket last time and has left Archie Watson since.

Quickly developed into a smart performer and already runner-up twice in pattern company. Unable to add to tally in sales races the last twice and looks out of his depth in this.

Has looked a good prospect in winning his first 2 starts, comfortably on top of King Vega in the Solario Stakes at Sandown 48 days ago. More to come, so worth a try at this level.

Better for debut and proved far too good in a novice at Newcastle second time out. Further progress when second to Alkumait in Mill Reef at Newbury last time, so shouldn't be completely ruled out.

Looked good prospect when landing a 7-runner maiden at Naas 7 months ago and bred to relish the longer trip. It's an obvious concern that he's not been seen since, though.

Won his maiden at the Curragh in August and improved further when 1½ lengths third of 10 to Thunder Moon in National Stakes at the Curragh (7f, good to soft) 21 days ago. Player with more to come.

Improved a chunk from debut when landing a gamble in Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot and followed up in Group 2 on the July course. Fourth in the Middle Park here last time but looks vulnerable.

Thunder Moon made a ready winning debut, then looked something extraordinary when landing the National Stakes at the Curragh, quickening up sharply after meeting trouble, so he's the one to beat

Likeable type who took a marked step forward when a strong-finishing second to Thunder Moon in the National Stakes at the Curragh last time. Seems unlikely to reverse form with that rival, though.

For THUNDER MOON to recover from trouble in-running to land the National Stakes in such a convincing manner on just his second career outing marks him down as a really classy colt, so he's the obvious choice to add a second top-level success to his CV. Cadillac looks a huge threat along with the unbeaten Chindit but there are plenty of others for whom a case can be made.
