Veteran who is on a very long losing run but there have been plenty of respectable efforts this term. Hard to fancy for the win but he should be in the shake-up.

Hasn't won since 2018 but is a former C&D scorer and his recent efforts have been creditable, finishing a place behind So Beloved when fifth at Ayr latest.

Useful at best for Gordon Elliott. No significant impact in handicaps for new yard but he wasn't beaten that far at Ascot last time and his mark continues to slide. Keep an eye on in betting.

Fairly useful at up to 1m in Ireland for Jim Bolger and capable of being competitive from this sort of mark now setting out for new trainer Kevin Frost.

No impact this season but now 3 lb lower than when successful at Newmarket last autumn and his yard won this race last year. Interesting runner.

Creditable fifth of 16 in handicap at York (6f, good, 5/1) 11 days ago, suited by emphasis on stamina. Return to 7f in his favour and of interest from his current mark.

Hasn't built on promise of last autumn's debut second but still early days and he's a possible improver now handicapping after wind surgery.

Winless since 2018 and hasn't offered enough for this yard on his last 4 starts to be overly positive about his prospects here.

Better than ever when winning pair of 7f Musselburgh handicaps in recent weeks but definitely more on his plate under a penalty in this higher grade.

16:30 Ayr - 17 September 2020 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

AMAYSMONT is from a yard which has tasted success a couple of times in this race in recent years and he could be the way to go having shaped as if this return to 7f will suit when running well at York recently. King of Tonga is starting to look too well handicapped to ignore and his stable won this race last year. His stablemate So Beloved is on a long losing run but has sound place prospects.

  1. AMAYSMONT
  2. KING OF TONGA (IRE)
  3. SO BELOVED
