0-5under rules and winless in nine starts in point-to-points too; last seen pulling up in Limerick handicap hurdle in July after long absence and in first-time cheekpieces; difficult to recommend on chase bow.
Plenty excuses made for the Court Cave gelding who is now without success in 13 starts over the larger obstacles. Still looking no nearer to breakthrough success.
Has been in excellent form over hurdles here and at Tipperary on all his last four starts; a huge gelding who certainly looks built for chasing; should be high on confidence and can go very well.
Six-race maiden over hurdles but it was no great surprise to see the Gold Well gelding begin his chase career in good order when finishing third at Tipperary; can progress and one for the shortlist.
Fairly experienced chaser but yet to get serious in any of his 10 races over fences to date; on the plus side he is dropping back in class having been contesting novice or handicap chases.
Won for the second time at this track over hurdles in January but found things tough twice subsequently off higher mark; interesting contender who clearly enjoys racing around here.
Point-to.point winner who struggled on all his hurdle starts around the turn of the year; has been given a gentle introduction to fencing and not disgraced on either appearance; should be more to come.
No star over hurdles but has put up some improved performances over fences here in July and on debut at Leopardstown in March; improvement needed but hard to totally rule out.
Little joy in three beginner chases last season though did show slight improvement on return to action here last month; tailed off and pulled up when last seen at Roscommon earlier this month.
Only has a maiden hurdle success to show recently and rather flattered when 37L third at Roscommon over fences (2m5f) a week ago; plenty of improvement needed to get involved.
Forecasts
Elegant Dan (2/1), Man On The Run (4/1), Le Hachette (5/1), Memory Tree (5/1), Guttural (9/1), Kagney (18/1), Macho Mover (18/1), Dasmyhoss (18/1), Famous Day (25/1), Briggitie's Hill (100/1)
ELEGANT DAN has been in fine form over hurdles this summer and this immense gelding looks like he will be suited by chasing. With confidence up he should go well although nothing is taken for granted in races like this. Memory Tree was of little note over hurdles but is expected to make into a much better chaser. He has already had experience over fences and while he will need to improve he could run a big race. Man On The Run is another who will need to show improved form but he was not disgraced on any of his chase outings and is worthy of consideration.
