Penalised for an easy win at Haydock last month and giving 4lb away to seasoned campaigners makes for a stiff test. He's won on this type of ground before but might need a bit more give than the predicted going will allow.

Not well treated under the terms of the race and needs to considerably better his two previous starts this season. His yard has 22% strike-rate at this course so some negatives are balanced. Still hard to rule out in what will be a tactical race.

With a 31% strike-rate over the last month, the entire represents and yard flying at present. He won in a higher grade as a three-year-old and returned with a solid effort at Haydock last month. Has an excellent chance on these terms.

Posted some solid efforts in defeat at the top level last season and merits respect on that form alone. Was gelded prior to finishing fourth in a Listed race latest and might now have more to give. The big drop in trip is the stumbling block.

16:10 Thirsk - 9 August 2020 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

OSTILIO looks the logical choice in a field this size as he's best in at the weights and returned from an absence with a sterling effort in defeat last time out. His form as a three-year-old was rock solid and he'll be hard to beat if he runs anywhere near those levels. The drop in trip is a concern for Prince Eiji so Qaysar might be the best alternative. He does have a penalty for winning last time out, though. Dream Castle runs for a yard that has done well with a limited number of runners at this course over the last few years and he too must merit consideration in a race where none can confidently be ruled out.

  3. Prince Eiji
