Ran well here (6f) on his penultimate and, even though his latest run was a step backwards, his previous consistency suggests that below par effort can be forgiven. He's been placed twice over 5f before so very capable of being thereabouts again.
Got going late in the day on debut but showed enough to think that a small prize is within her grasp at some point. A literal reading of her first run (on a line through Ballyare) gives her a bit to find with Spring Bloom but she's still respected.
Got better with each run since her return in June and is still on a reasonably competitive mark despite going up 2lb for a near miss at Ayr last time. Looks a player at this level; one for the shortlist.
Cost just £800, the filly is a half-sister to Deposer, a 6f winner in the UK (as well as scoring over 7f when switched to racing in Hong Kong). Probably best watched on racecourse debut given that her yard is going through a quiet spell.
Finished third in each of her two previous starts and has dropped hints that she has a race with her capabilities. A strong pace would suit; dangerous to dismiss lightly.
A half-sister to Bobby Joe Leg, who has won four times for this yard; including on his debut as a 3-Y-O. The stable's form is yet to turn a corner in 2020 but a market move could still prove significant.
Forecasts
Spring Bloom (11/10), Northern Charm (3/1), Mecca's Hot Steps (10/3), Al Mansoura (13/2), Sandy B (50/1), Allayne B (66/1), Miss Plymwick (100/1)
There's not much to split Spring Bloom, Al Mansoura, and MECCA'S HOT STEPS but the last named seems to be thriving on being kept busy since her return and she is taken to tough it out for a deserved first career win. Spring Bloom is suggested as the best alternative. Northern Charm appeals as one to keep tabs on in the betting, too.
