Patchy form for Aidan O'Brien in last year, running one of his best races when fourth in the Gallinule Stakes on his return, but failing to build on that back in handicap company at Naas. Won't be easy to place for new connections in the short term.
Winner on debut and added a dirt win to his name at Meydan. Struggled thereafter, but gelded, and offered more when fourth to Establish in a C&D handicap last month. Claims if building on that promising effort with cheekpieces retained.
Better effort last year when second to King Leonidas at Newcastle. Improved when scoring here on return by 3½L from Lincoln Bright, and unlucky not to finish much closer when third of 8 to Tsar on handicap debut at Ascot last time. Sure to go well.
Beaten over further on his first two starts this season, but seemed to relish the return to 1m when winning a handicap at Sandown last time by 2¾L from Mostawaa. Should build on that kept to this trip, and respected.
Stepped up to 1m for return/ handicap debut at Doncaster, and looked unlucky not to finish closer when 1¾L sixth of 13 to Notforalongtime. Won't need to improve much to get involved.
Best effort as a juvenile came on heavy ground, and he's been readily outpointed in a couple of competitive handicaps this summer. Dropped 5lb since last run, but hard to make a case for him.
Finished in front of Duesenberg when beaten narrowly at Doncaster on his penultimate start, but didn't really advertise that form when only 4¾L sixth of 9 to Makram at Ascot last time.
Forecasts
Evening Sun (6/4), Zegalo (11/4), Laser Show (9/2), Duesenberg (10/1), Ajax Tavern (12/1), Toronto (40/1), Sea Voice (40/1)
EVENING SUN did not get the greatest of rides on his handicap debut at Ascot recently, but he did well to finish third having conceded first run to the pair he split. He looked one to follow here prior to that, and looks very well handicapped off an unchanged mark. Zegalo is clearly better at this trip than further, and looks the one to chase the selection home, ahead of Laser Show.
