Defied awkward head carriage for winning start at Newbury (7f, good; 18-5) in June; disappointing 7-2 chance in the Chesham at Royal Ascot afterwards and held again since at Salisbury in novice company. More progress demanded.
Looked in need of the experience on debut at Leicester and duly stepped up to win at Newmarket (6f, good to firm; 8-1) since. Contender again despite the penalty.
Off the mark at the second attempt when narrowly landing a Chepstow maiden (6f, good; 5-1); then finished 2½L second to Jadwal at Newmarket. Was conceding 6lb then so much better off on these terms.
Cost £260,000 as a yearling and the son of Mehmas made a winning start in handicaps (fourth run) at York (6f, good to firm; 5-6f) recently off a mark of 74. May need to improve again but capable of that.
Good debut effort at Newmarket (fourth) in June and since justified 11-8 favouritism to win a Ripon maiden over 6f (form franked since). Likely more to come and on the shortlist again.
Took a step forward at York (6f, good to firm; 100-1) on third start when beaten only 3½L in finishing sixth of eight; though that still leaves him with work to do.
Has shown speed in both starts, latest over C&D in a maiden a fortnight ago. No surprise if there's more to come as can be the case with Hannon runners gaining experience but must improve.
Forecasts
Ataser (5/2), Jadwal (5/2), Line Of Departure (10/3), Et Tu Brute (13/2), First Prophet (12/1), Shanghai Rock (12/1), Cobweb Corner (50/1)
JADWAL had the re-opposing Et Tu Brute behind in second when opening his account at Newmarket last time. The latter is better off on these terms but may still struggle to reverse the placings with Charlie Hills' colt. Line Of Departure has already bagged a nursery and looks capable of further improvement while the same is true of Ataser; though this looks much tougher than the Ripon race he won last month.
