Air To Air

9/2
Stable yet to have a 2yo winner; 36,000gsn yearling, second foal, dam, maiden (stayed 8.5f), half-sister to smart 1m2f-1m4f winner Air Pilot. Best watched given the yard's record with 2yo's so far.

Very nearly a debutant winner for the yard (had more than usual this summer) just beaten by subsequent Group 3 winner Cairn Gorm over 6f at Newbury. Lacked the experience to get the job done in the end, should improve, tough to ignore.

Well held on both starts so far showing nothing more than on his debut at Ayr last time when upped in trip to 6f. Unlikely to be troubling the principals, candidate for nurseries after this.

Held back by inexperience on his debut at Lingfield over 6f he was struggling from halfway and just plugged on at the end. Should be better for the experience but hard to recommend in a winning context.

€50,000 yearling, newcomer, by Mehmas, fourth foal: half-brother to 7f winner Zhebe, dam lightly-raced half-sister to smart winner up to 1m Beauvoir. Nicely-bred sort but stables 2yo debutants usually come on for the run.

Makes some appeal on pedigree showing ability amidst the inexperience on debut at Chepstow (7.1f), never really a threat but hinted at better to come. Dropped in trip and onto a different surface, one of the more likely sorts to bustle up favourite.

Showed a little more second time out than he had on his debut at Yarmouth over 6f although it was still a fairly modest performance. Would need to show a lot more to het near the main players here.

Offered very little when 125-1 on his debut at Doncaster (7f) finishing well held after leading in the early stages. Now tried on AW back at 6f, hard to make a case and makes little appeal.

Slow away on debut after getting upset in the stalls there wasn't anything more to like about his second effort at Beverley also over 5f. Steps up to 6f moving on to the AW for the first time but looks destined for low-grade handicaps.

Age: 2|  Weight: 9-0| J: T Hamilton| T: R A Fahey
33/1
From a leading yard who have finally going with their 2yo's but showed nothing but inexperience on her debut over 6f at Haydock. To be hoped that she can show a little more now switched to AW but expectations remain modest.

Forecasts

Dandys Derriere (8/15), Air To Air (9/2), Semper Augustus (6/1), Luckiness (12/1), Light Wakeup (16/1), Love Baileys (33/1), Silver Nemo (40/1), Denzil's Laughing (50/1), Gems Jewel (66/1), Tom Mix (125/1)

17:20 Wolverhampton - 7 August 2020 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Not that much strength in depth in this division and it offers a good opportunity for DANDYS DERRIERE to get off the mark having pushed a subsequent Group 3 winner all the way on his debut at Newbury it won’t be a surprise to see him improve further. The others to have run already look on the whole a modest bunch although Semper Augustus appears the to improve from his debut. Of the two newcomers Air To Air looks the best and he could ne another to bustle up the favourite and at least give him some sort of contest.
  1. Dandys Derriere
  2. Semper Augustus
  3. Air To Air
