Equiano colt, half-brother to last season's Group 3 6f placed and triple winner Graceful Magic; encouraging seventh of 11 in novice at Windsor (6f, good) on debut 11 days ago, racing on the pace. Likely improver.
£10,500 two-year-old, Showcasing colt. Dam, 7f maiden, half-sister to useful winner up to 1¼m Master Apprentice. Hooded on debut and should learn from this.
€78,000 Muhaarar yearling; rather blew the start at Pontefract on debut (5f, good to firm; 15-8) but made good late ground to be second; hood worn then is left off now and more to come.
Oasis Dream colt showed plenty dash on debut at Newbury (6f, good; 7-1) before finishing sixth in a race that has already thrown up three more winners; drop in distance suits and key player.
Well-bred daughter of Pivotal; 33-1 on debut at Bath (5½f, good to firm) last month and finished ahead of only one rival in nine-runner event. May need more time.
Swiss Spirit filly out of winning miler; better effort on second start at Windsor (5f, good to soft; 125-1) recently; though even that leaves her with plenty to find on paper.
Forecasts
Politics (11/10), Pure Dreamer (3/1), First Edition (4/1), Dark Illusion (9/2), Peerless (25/1), Gypsy Boy (50/1), Celestial Point (100/1), Friday (150/1)
Politics ran on strongly at Pontefract on debut to finish second and should be a threat here if wiser for the experience but he'll need to be alert when the gates open as PURE DREAMER showed plenty speed at Newbury and likely won't hang around. That debut effort is excellent form and with the Richard Hannon juveniles typically improving for a run, this son of Oasis Dream can get on the board. Newcomer First Edition has plenty going for him on paper.
