Retains the blinkers worn for first-time on last hurdles outing but didn't appear to have benefitted from that debut experience (jumped poorly). Only a modest maiden on the Flat he looks limited having been beaten 33L and 30L on two hurdles starts.
Showed ability on the Flat in Ireland with Jim Bolger at 10f (had just the three starts), now gelded going jumping with a new yard. Looks the sort who could prove useful in this sphere, has form on good-to-soft, worth a market check.

Only rated 56 on the Flat, failed to score in that sphere 0-11 (run with credit on occasions). Stays 10f, would have to step forward markedly on Flat form to have a chance making his debut in this sphere.

One of five hurdling newcomers he only has form on the Flat as 2yo at up to 6f with a best effort of third on the AW at Newcastle last October. Showed some promise in that sphere (rated 69), has to prove he has the stamina for this trip.

One of two from this yard (also run Lairig Ghru) unlike his stablemate he's had some experience over hurdles finishing third on his debut at Market Rasen (16.6f). Ran below his fair Flat form on that occasion (looked slow), sharp track may not suit.

2/1
Newcomer from a yard that do well in this sphere; fairly useful maiden on the Flat at his best (stays 1m). Disappointed both Flat starts this year ay 10f, sold out of the Varian yard (40,000gns in July), type to be rejuvenated by this trainer/hurdles

Cheekpieces on first-time returning to hurdles after a modest third on the Flat last time at Chepstow (12f, good/firm). Shaped better than the distance beaten (15L) suggests behind Hiconic (4-4 over hurdles) on hurdles debut, capable of better.

To Fly Freet128
Age: 3|  Weight: 10-3| J: T Scudamore| T: D Pipe
11/1
French maiden winner (6.7f) on debut (five starts since without success), left Ludovic Gadbin €6,000 in July. Makes GB/stable/hurdles debut in first-time tongue-tie, in good hands (yard had success in this sphere), worth noting in the market.

Forecasts

Naizagai (2/1), Peat Moss (7/2), Fraterculus (9/2), Mick (15/2), To Fly Free (11/1), Global Agreement (12/1), Lairig Ghru (12/1), Debt Of Honour (28/1)

12:15 Cartmel - 7 August 2020 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Not an awful lot to base conclusions on in terms of hurdling form with those that have jumped obstacles setting only a modest standard with Peat Moss looking the best of that group having run relatively well against unbeaten juvenile hurdler Hiconic. However it may prove better to rely on those making their debut with NAIZAGAI, a 40,000gns purchase looking the most likely to be suited by this sphere. Both Fraterculus and To Fly Free have some fair Flat form to their name and should be checked in the market, given how they both performed on the level they should be capable of getting involved here.
  1. Naizagai
  2. To Fly Free
  3. Peat Moss
