Put a below-par effort at Market Rasen behind him when making all to score over slightly further here on latest start despite the odd mistake. Has the penalty for that but clearly in good heart, and every chance of following up.

Five times a winner on the Flat in Sweden but was well behind Courtandbould on hurdles debut last month, and there seems little reason why he should reverse the form here.

Last in a bumper and four non-completions in point-to-points hardly bodes well for his chances here. Little chance on what we know.

Won off a mark of 75 on the Flat for Roger Teal last August and probably has a ready excuse for his poor performance on only hurdles start as he bled from the nose. May be capable of better here.

Three starts in point-to-points, didn't complete in any of them but was still in with a chance when falling in the third of them at Dungarvan; still faces a tough task on Rules debut for new yard today.

Was rated 72 when winning on the sand at Dundalk for another yard last December, and ran well on hurdles debut at Uttoxeter two weeks ago, staying on well late to grab a close third. Repeat of that gives him place chances here, at worst.

Be Fair37
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-11| J: Harry Bannister| T: A W Carroll

Well held on only hurdles start at Doncaster (did show some promise) but has Flat ability and should be fitter after a couple of outings in that sphere in June. Probably one for handicaps but a better showing here wouldn't surprise.

Greek Kodiac16

One win in 15 starts on the Flat, that coming over 10f at Chelmsford in March, but doesn't really have the size or scope for hurdles and might find this an uphill struggle on debut in the sphere today.

No Thanks27
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-11| J: David England| T: O Murphy
25/1
Winner over 12f on the Flat at Bath for William Jarvis last August but it was a moderate event, and he put in a low-key hurdles debut at Market Rasen last month. Best watched today.

Our Rodney52
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-11| J: B S Hughes| T: D McCain Jnr
22/1
Sprint winner on the Flat back in 2018 and no surprise that he found Hexham's 2m too taxing on his only hurdles start last June. This a more suitable test but looks one for handicaps further down the line.

Horse silk
Snow Leopard19
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-11| J: R T Dunne| T: A W Carroll
100/1
Rated in the mid 40s on the Flat and didn't so much as hit the frame in 11 starts, so unless he's utterly transformed by eight flights of hurdles here, has little chance of success.
13
Horse silk
66/1
Signs of promise in a couple of bumpers, and there are hurdle winners in the family, but is likely to want further than this on breeding and unless attracting plenty of support, is probably best watched today.

Horse silk
Raven's Raftb16
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-5| J: Lee Edwards| T: Dave Roberts
66/1
Looks of limited ability on the Flat, although previous yard did get a couple of wins out of her, and she was readily held on her hurdles debut at Bangor last month. Faces another uphill task against higher rated rivals again here.

16:15 Stratford - 6 August 2020 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Not many in with realistic chances of success. COURTANDBOULD has been found the right contest to try and carry a penalty for his win in, and he can score again before moving into tougher company. Bashful Boy looks the danger after a good effort at Uttoxeter where a late mistake probably cost him his chance. The race for the bronze looks wide open - take your pick from Be Fair, Dark Storm, and Blistering Bob, to name just a few.
  1. Courtandbould
  2. Bashful Boy
  3. Dark Storm
