Useful chaser that made the most of a good opportunity to score back over hurdles over C&D last month, coming away easily late on. Has the penalty for that but this isn't a tough race, and proven under conditions, is the one to beat.

Second on only start in an Irish bumper and then ran to a similar level for Paul Nicholls last month, looking in need of further. He gets that step up in trip for his hurdles debut today, and might be the danger to Templepark.

Of little account on the Flat in Jersey and has shown nothing in two starts for this yard. Can't be entertained as a likely winner.

Maiden after 22 starts on the Flat and only rated in the 40s. Has little chance on hurdles debut today.

16/5
Useful on the Flat, particularly on the all-weather where he's a seven times winner from 12 starts. Rated 80 in that sphere, is effective on turf and if he can jump well on his hurdles debut, has chances of upsetting the applecart.

Was a very modest handicap hurdler when last seen, rated just 82 now and hasn't seen a racecourse since the September of 2018. No realistic chance here.

Sent off huge prices in four starts, one bumper and three hurdles, showing only the merest glimmer of ability so far. Has a tongue tie on today, but it needs to make a massive difference if he's to have any chance.

Unplaced in six point-to-points and weakened quickly out of things on his hurdles debut here last month. May do a little better with that under his belt, but still faces a stiff task here.

Berboru7
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-5| J: David Bass| T: F Brennan| OR:  95

Early promise for Ben Pauling but a distant memory already, hasn't shown anything for some while and was easily seen off at Bangor last month. On the downgrade and faces another uphill struggle here.

Not a total write-off on her third to Templepark here last time, beaten 9l and is 4lb better off today, but she now needs to back that up as she'd not shown a lot before. Gets plenty of weight and if others misfire, a place is up for grabs.

Forecasts

Templepark (1/2), Noble Behest (16/5), Bob Pebble (10/3), Lucky Purchase (20/1), Berboru (40/1), Flying Focus (100/1), The Last Melon (150/1), Wookey Hole (150/1), Thestopperdunne (250/1), Bonjour (300/1)

13:15 Newton Abbot - 5 August 2020 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

TEMPLEPARK has a slightly more difficult task on his hands than last time but he can win another before the penalties become a bit too much for him. Bob Pebble should do better now tackling more of a trip, and looks the danger. Noble Behest has plenty of ability on the Flat and will be a threat if he can hurdle with some fluency on his debut today. Lucky Purchase might be the one for those looking for something more speculative at an each-way price.
  1. Templepark
  2. Bob Pebble
  3. Noble Behest
