Well beaten on AW debut, but much improved to win a 7f maiden at Chepstow last time by 3¾L from Dromquinna. Improvement required at this level, but should have more to offer.

By Wootton Bassett out of a 7f winner. Well fancied, and impressed when winning a 7f Doncaster maiden by 1¾L from Alablaq. Type to do much better, and respected up in class.

Winner on debut at Wolverhampton, but has had his limitations exposed in Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot and July Stakes at Newmarket since. Eased in class, but hard to fancy.

Coped well with heavy ground when winning a 6f maiden at Haydock on debut by 1L from Shobiz. Takes a step up in grade, and facing different conditions, but looks sure to progress.

From a good family, and although well beaten on debut, he improved to land a 7f novice at Yarmouth last time by a neck from Spanish Colt. Faces a stiffer task here, but can keep improving.

By Dubawi out of a useful French 7f/1m winner. Shaped like a certain winner when 1L third of 9 to Youth Spirit in a 7f maiden at Newmarket 15 days ago, and well worth his spot at this level.

Third at Newmarket on debut over 6f, and improved when 2¼L third of 15 to Nando Parrado in Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot. Every chance on that, and while not certain to stay this trip on pedigree, he's bypassed a couple of easier targets for this.

Improved from debut behind Bright Devil to win a Redcar maiden, and progressed again when fourth of 10 to Master of The Seas in Superlative Stakes at Newmarket last time. Every chance eased slightly in class here, and stamina assured.

Second in small fields at Ayr on both starts, and beaten in a match last time, but the margin was a short head behind the Chesham Stakes runner-up March Law. No forlorn hope if that doesn't flatter him.

Twaasol21
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-3| J: M Harley| T: Owen Burrows| OR:  95
7/2
Posted a big effort on debut at Windsor (6f), and backed that up when landing the Woodcote Stakes at Epsom last time. Pedigree suggests that 7f will be no problem, and he is shortlisted again.

Forecasts

Naval Crown (3/1), Saeiqa (16/5), Twaasol (7/2), Saint Lawrence (9/2), Chindit (15/2), Cobh (20/1), Bowland Park (25/1), Harold Shand (40/1), Summa Peto (50/1), Choritzo (80/1)

13:50 Ascot - 25 July 2020 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

There are a number of lightly raced sorts who could improve now elevated to Listed company, making this potentially tricky, but the trio who stand out on form are TWAASOL, Saint Lawrence and Saieqa and they are preferred in that order, with the Woodcote winner expected to relish the step up to seven furlongs on pedigree, and Saint Lawrence already proven at the trip, giving him the edge in turn over the Coventry Stakes third.
  1. Twaasol
  2. Saint Lawrence
  3. Saeiqa
