US-bred colt who cost $45,000 as a yearling. Showed a fair degree of ability when 2¾L fourth of 5 to Bonnyrigg in a 6f maiden at Newmarket last month, and will improve, although this tends to be a hot contest historically.

By The Last Lion out of a 7f winner . Offered something to work on when fourth of 11 to Zamaani in a 6f Windsor novice first time out. Ought to improve, but has plenty to find on the book.

Kodiac half-brother to 6f-7f winner Quiet Waters, out of an unraced mare. Two of yard's four 2-y-o winners this term have struck on debut, so not without interest despite his ordinary pedigree.

Dark Angel half-brother to smart 7f-1m1f winner Dream Castle, out of Flying Childers Stakes winner Sand Vixen. Bred to be precocious, and top rider booked, so merits a market check on debut.

Dam is a half-sister to smart middle-distance performer Firebet, and this son of Mehmas (sire of Method) cost 140,000 gns as a yearling. One of yard's few 2-y-o runners this year is Woodcote Stakes winner Twaasol, who scored on debut.

MAYAAS offered something to work on when fourth to Cobh on his debut, and that experience will stand him in good stead in a field mostly comprise of newcomers. Of those, Mohawk King, representing last year's winning stable, looks best, although most of them appeal enough on paper to need a market check. Tacitus hails from a yard whose juveniles are meant to improve markedly for a run, but which has had three winning newcomers from limited chances this summer, so could be underestimated, a comment which applies to El Patron, whose stable has punched above its weight this term.
