Gerry's Wayt32
Age: 4|  Weight: 11-9| J: Keith Donoghue| T: G Elliott
9/2
Winner on the Flat in May last year landing a 14-runner Leopardstown 1m maiden; nibbled at in the market on hurdles debut at Limerick in June but beaten a long way in that contest; obviously open to improvement and may well be supported again.
2
Horse silk
25/1
Valued at 8,500 euros as a yearling but was unsold; third foal; dam 2m hurdle winner; stable has had a recent maiden hurdle winner so perhaps worth a market check to gauge stable confidence.
3
Horse silk
33/1
Dylan Thomas gelding out of a Desert King mare. Dam failed to complete in four career point-to-point starts; pulled up on only racecourse appearance at Clonmel after struggling in rear; difficult to assess.
4
Horse silk
Glory12
Age: 4|  Weight: 11-9| J: Darragh O'Keeffe| T: T G McCourt
13/2
Experienced but ultimately frustrating maiden on the Flat; comes here fit after three typically average performances on the level; chance he might bloom over hurdles; market support would be interesting.
5
Horse silk
Mithmaart7
Age: 4|  Weight: 11-9| J: S A Mulcahy(7)| T: D Hogan
8/1
Running well in defeat in a couple of starts since returning to action on the Flat last month and only let down by some poor jumping on hurdles debut at Kilbeggan recently; should finish closer to money if hurdling improves.
6
Horse silk
18/1
Cost just 2,200 euros as a yearling; eighth foal; half-brother to useful hurdle/chase winner Bally Longford, bumper winner Graces Choice and point winner Stay Connected; bred to do well; check market.
7
Horse silk
20/1
By Leading Light out of a Milan mare; First foal; dam maiden point winner/well beaten bumper/hurdles; difficult to make a strong case for on breeding.
9
Horse silk
17/2
Lightly raced maiden on the Flat; fair effort last time out at Killarney in first-time cheekpieces (left off today); hard to see him getting competitive on hurdles debut.
10
Horse silk
Surmise145
Age: 4|  Weight: 11-9| J: M J Bolger| T: B Connell
11/2
Camelot gelding is a half-brother to numerous winners on Flat, including smart 7f-1m1f winner Wentworth; not beaten too far in a bumper at Leopardstown in March; possibilities.

Horse silk
Yafordadoe152
Age: 4|  Weight: 11-9| J: J M Moore| T: G P Cromwell| OR:  108
15/8
Won his last two starts on the Flat at the Curragh and Galway (both over 7f on testing ground) but has found things tougher over hurdles; has shown glimpses of form; better chance than most of these especially if his jumping improves.
12
Horse silk
Zaccarela14
Age: 4|  Weight: 11-9| J: L P Dempsey| T: P Fenton
80/1
Half-brother to French 2m5f chase winner Monte Stello; related to many National Hunt-bred winners; no impact on hurdle debut at Kilbeggan (2m4f, good to yielding; 40-1) earlier this month.

Forecasts

Yafordadoe (15/8), Gerry's Way (9/2), Surmise (11/2), Glory (13/2), Mithmaar (8/1), Reddiac (8/1), Segenhoe (17/2), Pick On Me (18/1), Pon Me Soul (20/1), Getaway Jack (25/1), Glen Luce (33/1), Zaccarela (80/1)

16:40 Cork - 24 July 2020 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

YAFORDADOE has plenty of experience over hurdles now and could be set for his first victory if he can translate his useful Flat form over timber. It has been his jumping that has let him down in the past but if he can improve then he should go well. Mithmaar is another fair Flat performer. His hurdles introduction was marred with jumping errors but if he can put them behind him then he could go well. Glory was well regarded on the Flat in his juvenile days when with Richard Hannon. He turned into no more than an average handicapper but was generally consistent and if he takes to hurdling then he has a chance on debut.
  1. Yafordadoe
  2. Mithmaar
  3. Glory
