Comfortably beaten on second career start after a four-month break when last of 12 at Salisbury 12 days ago. Impossible to fancy.

11/10
Better effort in 6f Chantilly maidens for John Hammond last year when a close second in heavy ground in November. Matched that when 1¼L second of 8 to Able Grace in a 7f novice at Haydock three weeks ago, and may yet do better for new yard.

100/1
Sidestep half-brother to Bulgarian/German 1m-1½m winner Caldi Mill and 7f-1½m winner Ruby Wednesday out of a 2-y-o 6f winner. Yard has a moderate record with newcomers, and others preferred as a result.

11/1
Half-brother to smart middle-distance winners Barshiba, Dash of Spice and Dashing Star. Needed the run when fifth of 11 to Its A Given over 6f at Kempton on debut. Needs to improve markedly if he's to get involved, but longer trip is sure to help.

9/4
Homebred full-sister to Dewhurst winner Air Force Blue from family of Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies winner Flanders. Ran well from a poor draw when 4¾L third of 14 to Tinker Toy in a 7f novice at Salisbury recently, and is sure to improve.

Horse silk
25/1
Better effort to date when 5¼L fourth of 14 to Tinker Toy at Salisbury, but is strictly held by American Entente on that form, and lacks the obvious scope of that rival.

Horse silk
25/1
Homebred half-sister to a couple of useful winners, and left debut effort well behind when 6½L fifth of 14 to Heiress in a heavy-ground novice at Newmarket in November. Needs to prove herself on quicker ground after an absence, but not dismissed.

Horse silk
125/1
Half-sister to modest 1m winner Nyala, and bought in cheaply as a yearling. Always towards the rear when eighth of 12 behind Baashir at Salisbury recently, and hard to recommend on that showing.

Age: 3|  Weight: 8-12| J: R L Moore| T: D Menuisier
4/1
Epaulette half-sister to connections' smart 1m winner History Writer. Caught the eye when 7L fifth of 10 to First Kingdom at Haydock on debut, shaping better than the result after starting slowly. Type to do much better, and not taken for granted.

Horse silk
300/1
Makes scant appeal on pedigree, and failed to beat a rival at big odds on debut at Lingfield recently.

Forecasts

Derdas (11/10), American Entente (9/4), Shouldering (4/1), Ajyaall (6/1), Starshiba (11/1), Far From A Ruby (25/1), Perfect Sunset (25/1), Marbles Are Blue (100/1), Saigon Suzi (125/1), Dilly The Pink (250/1), Willingly (300/1)

17:25 Sandown - 23 July 2020 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

SHOULDERING has a bit to find with form choice Derdas based on their respective efforts at Haydock recently, but David Menuisier's filly is open to stacks of improvement having very much caught the eye on her debut, and she gets the nod on that basis. American Entente is superbly bred, and ran well from a tricky spot on her Salisbury debut. She will be at her peak now, and a win would greatly enhance her paddocks value.
  1. Shouldering
  2. Derdas
  3. American Entente
