Horse silk
Talbot29
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-1| J: M Dwyer| T: B J Meehan| D
12/1
Gleneagles colt (£50,000 yearling); authoritative winner of a 5f Lingfield AW maiden on debut (Jojo Rabbit second, Aussie Stormer third); missed the break, and in rear throughout in the Grp 2 Coventry Stakes (6f) at Royal Ascot subsequently.

Horse silk
Peerless11
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-12| J: Tom Marquand| T: E Walker
125/1
Kodiac colt (€36,000 yearling); things didn't necessarily go according to plan on debut here (6f, good to soft) earlier this month - finished 12th of 14 (20-1) to Cairn Gorm; others preferred.
4
(1)
Horse silk
Tinochio25
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-12| J: K Stott| T: K A Ryan| D
15/2
Buratino colt (£35,000 yearling); became the sixth winner from the mare Endless Peace when readily disposing of his eight rivals at Hamilton Park (5f, good to soft) 25 days ago, with runner-up Burning Cash a Chepstow scorer in the interlude.
5
(13)
Horse silk
Kool Moe Dee21
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-10| J: Rossa Ryan| T: R Hannon
40/1
Pacy; weak inside the closing stages when finishing third in a Windsor maiden (5f, good to firm) three weeks ago; his trainer Richard Hannon is also responsible for for Cirrus, Nelson Gay and Happy Romance.
6
(18)
Horse silk
Disco Beats18
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-9| J: J Fanning| T: J & S Quinn| D
66/1
Was clearly suited by making a swift return to the minimum trip when off the mark at the third time of asking in a modest maiden auction stakes at Musselburgh (good) 18 days ago.
7
(15)
Horse silk
Get It32
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-9| J: L P Keniry| T: C G Cox
4/1
Twilight Son colt (£20,000 yearling); was always in the front rank when finishing a creditable fourth to Tactical in the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot (5f, good); likeable type who must enter the thinking.
8
(22)
Horse silk
Jojo Rabbit14
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-9| J: Hollie Doyle| T: A Watson| D
16/1
Exceptionally speedy colt; came up short in the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes (eighth) and the Listed Dragon Stakes (fifth) at Sandown; has earlier Lingfield form with Talbot and Aussie Stormer.
9
(20)
Horse silk
Mahale13
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-9| J: S De Sousa| T: M R Channon
33/1
Kodiac filly; finished ninth of 13 (14-1) in the Group 3 Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot (6f, good to soft); second best to the odds-on favourite Caroline Dale at Windsor (5f, good to firm) since.
10
(14)
Horse silk
150/1
Represents last year's winning trainer Rod Millman (Bettys Hope); soundly beaten on both starts to date (Newbury & Windsor); it'll be a major turn up for the books if he has a positive role to play; look elsewhere.
11
(4)
Horse silk
Power Onb6
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-9| J: J P Sullivan| T: P W D'Arcy
125/1
Showed minor improvement when vainly chasing home the front-running Night On Earth in a 5f Windsor novice (good) earlier this week; that said, this race appears to be an overly ambitious next assignment.
12
(7)
Horse silk
Cirrus8
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-8| J: P J Dobbs| T: R Hannon
40/1
Starspangledbanner filly (£40,000 yearling); was only beaten ¾L by the Albany Stakes second Setarhe on debut at Newmarket (6f) in June; back on track over 7f at Salisbury (fourth) last week; one of four declared runners for Richard Hannon.
14
(26)
Horse silk
Nelson Gay11
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-8| J: S W Kelly| T: R Hughes
25/1
Hit the frame for the second time when losing out to Cairn Gorm and Dandys Derriere in a three-way tussle here (6f, good to soft) 11 days ago; has previous with Enduring (Yarmouth); stablemate of Aussie Stormer.
15
(3)
Horse silk
50/1
Easily picked off by Happy Romance (was extracting her revenge) in a tactical three-runner affair at Sandown (5f, good) on penultimate start; once more found another rival (Different Face) stronger at Lingfield (5f) a fortnight later.
16
(17)
Horse silk
25/1
Finished fourth (just behind Nelson Gay) on Yarmouth debut; certainly knew his job when rolling into town at Kempton (6f) later that month, when making all to beat Mitrosonfire by 2L; much preferred stablemate of Coco Bear.
17
(24)
Horse silk
Ocean Eyes11
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-7| J: Nicola Currie| T: R Spencer
80/1
Mehmas filly (£34,000 yearling); finished third to Setarhe (Cirrus second) on Newmarket debut; flopped here (raced keenly) on sole subsequent start; drop back to 5f thought helpful - dam, and half-sister (Mawde) were both 5f winners.
18
(12)
Horse silk
Rishworthianv13
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-7| J: S A Gray| T: D O'Meara
50/1
The first-time visor worked the oracle for this Requinto colt at Thirsk (6f, good) a fortnight ago - full value for his ¾L success; evidently has plenty of ability (heavily backed on second start); could well spring a minor surprise.
19
(21)
Horse silk
Soldierpoy20
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-6| J: Jason Watson| T: Tom Clover| D
22/1
Has shown a consistent level of form to date; was justifying favouritism when scoring narrowly at Thirsk (5f, good to soft) last month; respected, albeit does need to take a further step forward (possible) in this stronger contest.
20
(16)
Horse silk
Happy Romance29
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-5| J: S M Levey| T: R Hannon| D
10/3
Dandy Man filly (£25,000 yearling); took a step forward when galloping all over Bungledupinblue in a tactical three-runner affair at Sandown (5f, good); in there pitching until the death (fifth) in the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot subsequently.
21
(6)
Horse silk
7/2
Belardo filly (16,000gns yearling); most impressive when making a winning debut (20-1) at Goodwood (5f, good) - third-placed Kohinoor a maiden winner since; has left Jo Tuite, and is now in the care of Michael Bell; noteworthy.
22
(5)
Horse silk
Brazen Belle4
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-1| J: Josephine Gordon| T: D O'Meara| BF| D
20/1
Always towards the fore when getting back on the winning trail at Catterick (6f, good) on Wednesday; can this stablemate of Rishworthian cope with the combined demands of a swift turnaround/sterner competition?
23
(9)
Horse silk
100/1
Bated Breath filly; finished fourth of seven (9-2) on debut at Bath (5½f, good) earlier this month; is thrown in at the deep end on her second career start; thought more likely to sink than swim; far safer to look elsewhere.
24
(25)
Horse silk
Kim Wexler16
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-1| J: J Quinn| T: D Loughnane
40/1
Mehmas filly (£7,500 yearling); half-sister to seven winners; ultimately was no match for the Godolphin representative Mashmoom on debut in a 6f Chepstow fillies' maiden (good); carries the Kachy silks of Dave Lowe.
25
(10)
Horse silk
Risque29
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-1| J: K T O'Neill| T: R Hannon| D
100/1
Won a modest race at Lingfield (5f AW) on her second start before toiling (200-1) in the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot (5f, good); one of the weakest links in the East Everleigh Hannon Super Sprint Stakes battalion.
26
(23)
Horse silk
200/1
Reserve; Equiano filly (3,000gns yearling); fifth foal from the French winner Masque Rose (1m); thought likely to start at triple-figure odds if sneaking into the race; sports blinkers.

14:50 Newbury - 19 July 2020 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Newbury's summer feature has often went the way of a Hannon, with Richard Hannon senior saddling Risky (1993) and Monsieur Chevalier (2009) among his seven previous winners. Hannon junior seeks his third success, following on from Tiggy Wiggy (2014) and Ginger Nut (2018), and is mob-handed with the Queen Mary Stakes fifth Happy Romance, Cirrus, Kool Moe Dee and Risque. Meanwhile others with solid credentials include the Goodwood scorer Lullaby Moon (since switched to Michael Bell), and the likeable Get It. However, in pursuit of value we'll chance the centrally-drawn RISHWORTHIAN who thrived for the application of a first-time visor at Thirsk.
